The Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru the then Prime Minister of India laid the foundation stone of the "Nehru Gram Bharati" at village Dubawal near Jamunipur-Kotwa of his Phulpur Parliamentary constituency. Nehru Gram Bharati University has been accredited by NAAC with B+ Grade. The University was established for the need for vocational, technical, and professional education apart from conventional ones.

The was started to provide higher education for the farmer's children. The NGBU Admission is carried out in the name of Nehru Gram Bharati University, Jamunipur, Kotwa, Dubawal, Allahabad. They have a decent intake of students every year for the various courses offered.
