Barkatullah University Institute of Technology which is popularly known as University Institute of Technology was established in 1997 is an autonomous institute of Barkatullah University. The University is situated in Bhopal and is present in the Barkatullah University Campus and is a leading institution in India. BUIT has been following internationally accepted continuous assessment along with the CGPA system for awarding degrees to its students. The university has been an emerging centre for research in areas of science and engineering which includes nanotechnology, communication technology and many such streams. The engineering college at the Barkatullah University has AICTE approval in concurrence with the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. However the institution changed its name to University Institute of Technology (UIT) in 2000 and then some time later it changed to Barkatullah Institute of Technology and has now become a leading technological institution in Central India.

Barkatullah University Institute of Technology Infrastructure:

The university covers a number of facilities to its students which include administrative and academic wings, workshop, library, laboratories for research purpose, playground, gym, health centre, yoga centre, dispensaries, post office, banks and hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The college library has nearly 90000 books and 9000 thesis on various subjects, 3000 research magazines, 60 Sanskrit MSS, subscription to 15 newspapers and 12 weeklies, several monthly magazines and journals, along with all these the university has its own printing press for printing its materials. The cultural activities take place at the Gyan Vigyan Bhawan. Transportation is available between the campus and city, adding to this local transportation is also present from different parts of the city to the institution. The college has certain cells which endorse the harmony of the entire community present inside the college. These cells include,

Barkatullah University Institute of Technology Placement:

The university has a dedicated placement and counselling body which interlinks the industry with the universities thus creating more placement opportunities for its students. The institution not only focuses on getting the students placed in reputed firms but also preaches the importance of moral growth to them thus making them good human beings.  The university’s placement cell is situated at the ground floor of the library and conducts numerous placement activities. These activities include various training programs, job fairs, placement drives and many more. Till date the students belonging to BUIT have been placed in many governments as well as private institutions and organizations.

Barkatullah University Institute of Technology Eligibility Criteria:

The college has certain eligibility criteria set up for each program offered and students applying to any of these programs are expected to fully fill all of the eligibility steps to be made eligible for admission at the institution. It is also to be noted that not all the candidates who qualify the eligibility check will be given an admission and the decision is completely made by the university.

Barkatullah University Institute of Technology Admission:

The students opting any program offered by BUIT are advised to carefully read the guidelines given by the Madhya Pradesh Higher Education for admission before the registration process. Candidates applying for more than one course should fill different application forms for each program and students opting for full time programs are not allowed to opt for multiple programs. The selected candidates will be intimated by the university within one month of application submission. The admission is done completely on merit by the admission committee of the respective departments and in case of two students obtaining the same score in the merit list their marks in the qualifying examination will be taken into account. This goes for the post graduation program too where those candidates who have done their Bachelor’s degree in the same field as of the opting Master’s degree will be given a higher priority.

Documents Required

The candidates applying for various programs should attach attested photocopies of all the relevant documents along with the application form and the original documents must be produced at the university at the time of admission. The candidate should not send any of the original documents to the university through post. The required documents to be attached include,

• 12th standard mark sheets 
• Provisional mark sheet (if any)
• Degree Certificate (if any)
• Transfer certificate from the last attended institution
• Attempt certificate (if any)
• Eligibility certificate in case students from other university
• SC/ST/OBC candidates should attach caste certificate

Cutoffs at Barkatullah University Institute of Technology:

The cutoff for various courses at Barkatullah University Institute of Technology are not predetermined. It is determined after considering a number of factors. The criteria to determine the cutoffs are:

• The number of applications received for a particular course.
• The number of seats available.
• The difficulty of the entrance test.
• The performance of the candidates in the entrance test.
• The cutoff may also be sectional.

Barkatullah University Institute of Technology Hostel:

The college provides residential facilities for both boys and girls. There are 3 hostels (each) for both boys and girls along with a mess operated upon cooperative basis. The students who are willing to opt the hostel facility shall obtain the application forms which will be available in the office of the respective hostel facility. Both the boys and girls hostel are well maintained and spacious with facilities such as furnitures, Wi-Fi, gym, study rooms and a mess serving quality food for the students. the hostel is well guarded by 24 hours surveillance cameras and by security personnel.
