Library
Encouraging self study and the ability to research on several topics, the library at Bells Institute is the best aid for the students. Here, one can reach out to books prescribed not only in the syllabus but explore to a higher degree. The library is set up keeping in mind the courses offered, with separate sections for the respective subjects. Books are easily available on engineering (covering the different trades), management, hospitality, communications etc. Reference books available in the library come in handy from time to time both for the students and the teachers.
In order to encourage the habit of reading, general interest books, magazines on current/world affairs, daily newspapers and various other journals are provided to the students. The librarian along with the assisting staff ensures that books are managed well and whatever is required by the students is made available without any delay. Students can also find their subject related syllabus details in the library.
Adjoining the library is a spacious reading room. Along with the reading space in the library, this room comes across as an added bonus for it can easily accommodate some hundred and seventy plus students. Well lit and comfortable, students ensure they make use of this space not just for studying but for seminars, conferences and other intellectual meets.
Cafeteria
Catering to the students as well as the staff, the cafeteria at Bells Institute is a ‘self service’ one offering a wide variety in food. Right from quick bites to complete meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is hygienic drinking water (Aqua water purifiers) and strict quality check on the food items. Subsidized rates make it all the more convenient for the students and staff, who are also allowed to bring in their home food inside the cafeteria.
The cafeteria remains well-managed by the efficient cooks, helping staff and the supervisors. Faculty lunches, buffets, parties and other events are also organized within this area.
The institute also has a separate canteen for the students where they are seen conversing over a cup of coffee or enjoying the mouth-watering snacks. A cozy corner within the campus, this spot is where students like to spend their time post classes. The canteen has a light menu where sandwiches, momos, noodles, paranthas, burgers, tea, coffee etc. are prepared.
Bank
The presence of IDBI Bank within the campus has been of great benefit for the students and the institution alike. Financial transactions from fee submission, money deposit, bank challans, and money transfer to account opening and so on are easily managed through efficient support and use of the bank. Currently the 10th largest development bank in the world in terms of reach, IDBI Bank has come to be an important part of the institutional working.
Taking forward this association, the second half of 2014 witnessed the inauguration of the bank’s ATM at the Bell’s campus.
Hostel
The hostel at Bells Institute comes across as a great respite for the students. Right from getting accommodation to food and health facilities, students are able to grow amongst their peers in a comfortable environment and within the institutional setup.
To be a part of the hostel, students are welcomed on first come, first served basis. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostel for boys has a capacity for about 150 students with rooms provided on sharing basis. Separate washrooms, attached balconies, leisure area, medical facilities are some of the key features here. The hostel is looked after by the wardens who ensure that a healthy atmosphere is maintained at all times. The hostel for girls on the other hand has relatively less occupancy for the ratio of boys (outstation) remains more than that of girls. But there is no compromise when it comes to facilities provided with main focus being on ensuring a secure environment for the girl students. Meals are provided in a common mess for the students where hygiene and variety in food are kept up with.
Apart from residing in the hostels, to follow the guidelines is mandatory for the students. There is no compromise when it comes to discipline and strict action is taken in case one is seen going against the set of rules. It is required of all the students willing to occupy the rooms at the hostels, to go through the guidelines and set of rules before applying for the same.
