Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani Hyderabad is built on a sprawling lush green campus of 200-acre land. It offers modern amenities for holistic development. The campus is equipped with a library, hostel, sports, etc. Some of the highlighting features of the BITS Hyderabad infrastructure are mentioned below.

Hostel: The institute is residential, with all students staying in hostels. There are six boys hostels and two girls hostels. For all students, there are two communal kitchen cum mess units. The mess serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals, and a five-person student mess council runs it. Students staying at the BITS Hyderabad hostel are required to eat in a mess. The hostel provides basic amenities such as a cot, table, chair, ceiling fan, and cupboard. Solar water heating systems are installed. In each hostel, there are common rooms with cable television. All of the hostel rooms have access to the internet.

Healthcare: BITS Hyderabad has a medical facility that provides medical services to students and staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Two male doctors, a compounder/lab technician, and a sister live on campus for consultation. The medical centre features an ECG machine and a blood sugar monitoring station. For any emergency cases, the medical facility has made arrangements with Medicity Hospital, Medchal.

Telephones: Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani Hyderabad campus has IP phones with local and STD capabilities available in faculty chambers and households. The intranet can make calls on these phones (campus LAN). These IP phones are connected to the outside world through Tata PRI lines. The voice solution includes two Avaya gateways or call managers, which provide redundancy at the gateway level. It also runs phone billing software, which creates individual usage reports. Each hostel common room also contains an IP phone for receiving outside calls.

Internet, Email and Web:  The BITS Hyderabad campus has six IBM Blade servers for email, web, and DNS. A SAN box is also offered for backup purposes. The core, distribution, and access architectures construct the campus LAN. The institute currently uses a 90 Mbps leased line from Tata Teleservices and Reliance Communications for internet connectivity. A webserver with multiple applications is hosted using Apache, Linux, PHP, and MySql.

Library: The BITS Hyderabad library is air-conditioned and can accommodate 575 people. It has over 41000 books in its collection and subscribes to over 78 Indian and international periodicals and magazines. Over 7460 e-journals are available to students. We have a Springer e-books subscription. Over 11000 e-books are available to students and academic members. Thousands of books are available in electronic format at the library. The goal of the library facilities is to assist in teaching and research programmes.

Computer Facilities: BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus provides IPC with 60 Lenovo ThinkCentre workstations in IPC terminal room 1 with additional graphics cards running Windows XP and Redhat Linux 5.0. All the workstations are on the network and can connect to any computer server. All users can work in Unix/Linux or Windows XP environments, depending on workstation availability. Students from various fields use the centre for internet access. The centre is also in charge of the campus's voice solution.

Workshop: The BITS Pilani campus in Hyderabad has workshop that allows students to gain hands-on experience with basic manufacturing processes. Welding, fitting, carpentry, foundry, smithy, sheet metal, metrology, and electroplating capabilities are available. Machines such as lathes, shapers, grinding, milling, and drilling are also available. Each component is led by a team of technical experts.
