Dept of Chemical Technology, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Campus in the year 1989, the university established the department with one specialization i.e., B.Sc.Tech. [Pharmaceuticals and Fine Chemical Technology] with the objective to meet the needs of skilled personnel for the pharmaceutical industries in the region as well as the state of Maharashtra.  In 1997, the committee of All India Council of Technical Education [AICTE], New Delhi visited this department and suggested to convert the B.Sc.Chem. Tech. course into Bachelor of Chemical Technology course for students passing 12th standard. Keeping in view the needs of Marathwada region, the department has started B.Tech [Chem.] Course in the two specializations in Chemical Technology i.e. Pharmaceutical & Fine Chemical Technology and Food Technology.
