Dravidian University Infrastructure: Library, Hostel, Labs, Auditorium, Cafeteria & Other Facilities

Library:

The library at Dravidian University acquires a prominent place among the students and faculty. The Dravidian University Library System consists of a Central Library support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the institution in general and to promote Dravidian studies especially in the fields of comparative Dravidian literature and translation studies, religion, culture and indigenous science and national integration in particular. All students, faculty members and employees of the institution are entitled to make use of the Library facilities on taking library membership.

Computer Centre:

The Computer Centre at Dravidian University provides a central computing facility with Network Servers for all the students and staff of the University. It also offers possible assistance in conducting research, analysing data, etc. for all the students and staff of the University. The Centre helps to develop human resources in the field of Information and Communication Technology.

Hostel for Men and Women:

There are separate Hostels for men and women on the Dravidian University Campus. All women students will be provided with accommodation. There is limited accommodation for men.

All the students hailing from more than 20 k.m. radius of Dravidian University are eligible for Hostel Accommodation. However, admission will be given depending on the distance of their hometown and based on the availability of accommodation.

SC/ST Cell

Objectives:

• To implement the reservation policy for SCs/STs in the Universities andColleges.
• To collect data regarding the implementation of the policies in respect of admissions, appointments to teaching and non-teaching positions in the universities, and in the affiliating colleges and analyse the data showing the trends and changes towards fulfilling the required quota.iii.
• To take such follow-up measures for achieving the objectives and targets laid down for the purpose by the Government of India and the UGC.iv.
• To implement, monitor and evaluate continuously the reservation policy in universities and colleges and plan measures for ensuring effective implementation of the policy and programme of the Government of India.

Language Laboratory

The laboratory is used to equip the students with communication skills in English and also for the presentation of Audio-Visual materials. The lab has 40 multimedia PCs with rich software to provide communication skills. The lab provides the students with valuable, practical experience-based training. After undergoing the training in the lab, the students will feel confident that have acquired the required skills that are needed to become a professional in any discipline.

Student Counseling Centre

Every student of the university will be under the counselling of a teacher who acts as his/her mentor.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell

An internal quality assurance cell has been set up by the university to monitor the academic and administrative activities of the University.

Canteen

A spacious canteen built beside a lotus pond has all the modern amenities.

Shopping Complex

Campus Shopping Complex is housing a public telephone booth with all mobile recharge facility and a Gents saloon along with Post-Office of the university.

Multipurpose Gym

The Gym is equipped with the latest and sophisticated gadgets to Boys & Girls separately.

Indira Gandhi Stadium

The Stadium is large enough for playing Cricket, Hockey and Football. There are also Tennis, Ball Badminton, Basket Ball and Volley Ball Courts.

Transport

APSRTC Bus facility to the University campus is available from Kuppam town, V.Kota, K.G.F., Kolar and Krishnagiri.
