College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
The famous campus of Fatima college is quite vast, with a good atmosphere. There were no hostel facilities in 2018, though they were constructing a new building back then. The campus is close to the railway station and bus stop. Light refreshments and meals are available at the college canteen. They have well set labs, big library, book store, photostat centre, playground, chapel/prayer hall, etc.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
Admission is based on merit. Without an entrance examination, you have to apply through Kerala University allotment portal or the college website. Usually a high merit score (of above 80-90 percent) is required for merit seats. Self Financing and Management quota is also available.
Placements & Internships :
The college did not have a placement cell of its own (back in 2017), but had tie-ups with other colleges that offered placement assistance. You will be informed about the campus recruitment drives taking place in other colleges. For instance, you will be informed and taken to another college during the placement drive of top companies (we were interviewed by McKinsey & Co, ESAF Bank, etc).
Fees & Scholarships :
The fee for merit students is affordable and according to the university norms. However, for the management quota, you will be charged an amount depending on the demand for the course, your 12th score, etc. Scholarships will be given on the basis of the performance of the students in the first or second semester.
Academics & Faculty :
The class timing is from 9 to 4. Attendance and Internal Assessment are strict. There are two internal tests and a final exam per semester. The sem exams are conducted by the college itself, since it is autonomous. Teachers are well experienced and are good at what they are doing. Apart from the regular college programs like arts & sports fest, college day and festival celebrations, various state and national level competitions, seminars, etc will be held occasionally.
Clubs & Associations :
There are student unions, NSS, NCC, and other associations like different clubs for literary, arts, sports, film/media, health, environment, etc. Various departments organise these co-curricular activities in the form of competitions, workshops, entertainment programs and celebrations. The college life in general is quite refreshing and enjoyable, though the management comes up with some strange strict rules occasionally.
