LIBRARY

The library, centrally located in the campus, is housed in two independent 3 - storeyed buildings having a plinth area of 1533 Sq Mts. The library is having a collection of 1,01,554 volumes that includes 30,829 volumes under the Book Bank and about 11,574 volumes under SC/ST Book Bank. The collection includes reference works such as Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Hand Books and Standards.

• The library subscribes 152 Technical Periodicals of which about 42 are International, it has also a collection of nearly 3267 Back Volumes of Periodicals

• The seating capacity of the Library is 450 users at a time, which also includes two separate AC Reading Halls of a capacity of 150 users.

• The Digital Library has 771 CDs containing learning material on various subjects and 247 e-Journals and Magazines. The Library has online book search and issue facilities.

Library Automation and Computerization

• A Book database is created in the computer and is entered in the accession register as also for the journals / magazines which are updated for any additions or deletions.

• A student database is created in the computer with the roll numbers, student name, and number of tokens.

• A staff database is created in the system with name, membership number, token number and department.

• When books are issued, it is also entered in the computer. The member’s number is entered and the accession number of the book or magazine borrowed by the member along with the date of issue and the due date. Book renewal can also be done in the same way.

• Books can be retrieved either if the author is known or if the title is known. Books can also be retrieved according to any particular subject since all the available books on that particular subject are also displayed.

Facilities

• A modern Digital Library with a high-speed internet access.

• Separate sections for Book Bank, Periodicals, Back volumes, Reference Materials and Project Materials are provided.

• Reprographic facilities such as Photocopier, Printer and CD Writers.

• Audio Visual Section is also available

• Computers are made available to the students in the Libraries for reading the CD's.

• Library is provided with 2 Xerox machines. A nominal charge shall be collected for using the same.

• The Library has LAN & Wi-Fi facility. Through this, the, Library software can be accessed by the students from the server.

• Library is provided with internet facility at the speed of 256 Kbps.

• Library has a separate section for audio visual facility.

Book Bank:

Library has Book Bank facility for all and SC/ST students. The Books from the Book Bank are issued for the whole semester and every semester. Apart the General Book Bank, there is a separate SC/ST Book Bank books supplied by the Social Welfare Department. The SC/ST students can borrow 6 books at a time.

From the Book Bank students can borrow 2 books at a time. Late return of Books from Book Bank Entitles a FINE at Rs. one per day per book. Any defaulter in this context will not be issued any books further unless he/she clears the old dues.

Hostel :

a well-furnished separate Hostel for Boys and Girls. Each Hostel is facilitated with single bed, double bed and dormitory arrangements. Purified drinking water, hot water and cold water are provided round the clock. There is a 24-hour power backup, enabling adequate comfort to the residents. Facilities for communication, entertainment, and indoor games such Chess, Carom and modern Gym are also extended. Each Hostel houses a Common reading room, Dining hall and requisite medical facilities. Hygienic and Nutritious food is provided based on the students' need and the mess functions on dividing system.HOSTELS

Computer Centre :

The insttute has 29 computer centres housing 1600 Systems located in different departments, in addition 250 computers for the faculty. Each of these centres are connected with a LAN. The total number of computers in these centres is more than 1600, with latest configurations. All the computer centers and other computer facilities such as the Library & Information centre and the Industrial Competency Laboratory and the hostels are connected through a campus wide network with Fibre Optic backbone, as well as Wireless Access Network connecting all Hostels. All the Faculty members are provided with Desktop Computers individually.

The Institute has 14 Mbps INTERNET leased line connecting all the computer centres and the indvidual computers in the Departments and the Hostels. The internet facility is available round the clock.

Sports :

The Indoor Games like Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis, Shuttle, Basket Ball and Volley Ball are played in a well maintained. The play ground measures 2.17 lakh sq. feet and accommodates Basket Ball and Volley Ball Courts, One Cricket field, Two Kho - Kho Courts, One Kabaddi Court and a well laid 400 meters standard track which all fall under outdoor games.

The Boys and Girls who join this College are selected for the different Outdoor and Indoor games based on their earlier exposure at school level. The new players for the various sports and games are picked up by the interest evidenced by them in sports activities.

The selected students are given rigorous training and coaching by the Physical Education teachers a part from few theory classes to enlighten them about the rules of the games. The Management procures in consultation with Department the entire essential play materials, which is under the custody of the Department for instant use by the students.

Our students have bagged good winning records at the inter-departmental, inter-collegiate, University and State & National levels. The achievements of players have been classified on the basis of Sports Games.

The students practicing various sports and games are given routine physical exercises over and above the yoga and meditation which strengthen the concentration and contribution of the players.

We encourage the spirit of the sports personnel and conduct College level, Zone level and State level games and sports events.
