Situated in the holy place of Mathura, the Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM), commonly known as GLA University, is well known for its quality education. 

The university is known for its phenomenal infrastructure facilities. World Architect Forum, UK, awarded the university's architectural marvel. With top recruiting companies visiting the campus for placements, GLA often provides good placement opportunities for its students.

Apart from all the positives, students often feel that GLA University imposes strict rules and regulations, making their campus stay difficult. However, students who understand that the rules are made for their betterment tend to enjoy their life at the university.

Variety of Courses

GLA offers a variety of UG, PG, and Diploma courses. The university's fee structure may be costly but worth it as the quality of education and infrastructure facilities are commendable. Students applying for GLA must have a relevant score in GLAET and a genuine academic background. 

The GLA curriculum is designed per the industry standards and gets updated as required. The university has young faculty members with ample experience. Case studies, live examples, and interactive classroom sessions are some of the factors that define the university's teaching style. Students can avail themselves of scholarships the university offers based on their categories. 

Knowledgable and Experienced Faculties

Facilities at GLA University are highly knowledgeable and experienced. A mix of young and veteran faculties is the backbone of GLA's glory. Many faculties are the alums of prestigious institutes like IITs, IIMs, and NITs. Faculties make use of projectors and digital boards while teaching.

The faculty is current with all the latest topics and highly enthusiastic about its teachings. The teachings at GLA University are entirely in English, and faculty members also explain in Hindi to make students understand the topics clearly. GLA faculties are friendly and approachable. However, past students feel that the classroom sessions of a few faculties are intense as they are strict.

Commendable Infrastructure

The World Architect Forum, UK, has awarded the GLA University architecture. Some critical features of GLA's infrastructure are well-furnished and air-conditioned hi-tech classrooms, a wi-fi-enabled campus, and commendable residential facilities. The entire GLA campus is under 24/7 CCTV surveillance to ensure the safety of students. GLA University has a vast library of 1,55,000 books, over 4,500 CD-ROMs, and over 95 national and international journals/ magazines. 

GLA believes in the holistic development of students. Hence, it provides a wide range of sports opportunities for students. A dedicated ground for outdoor games and a sports complex for indoor games are present at the University campus. A health care unit named 'Aarogyam' provides 24/7 health care services for the students of the University.

GLA University Mathura has four canteens to cater to the needs of the students. The canteens have various food options, including Indian, Chinese, and Continental cuisine. Students can access the canteen facilities till 8 PM. The canteen food is of good quality and well maintained.

Comfortable Residential Facilities

GLA campus has 15 boys' hostels and four girls' hostels. The GLA management provides residential hostel facilities for its students and faculties. Students can choose to stay in AC or AC rooms. The fee varies for the kind of room students opt to stay in. The GLA hostel premises are under CCTV surveillance and Wi-Fi enabled. Vast chambers with all the basic amenities like beds, tables, chairs, cupboards, and more are available for students. 

The GLA mess provides good food facilities for students. Students must be at the mess within the given time frame to avail themselves of the mess food. A dedicated mess committee run by students looks after the mess management along with GLA officials. The mess's food menu keeps updating as per students' requirements.

Students can opt to stay in paying guest facilities available outside the campus. However, the mess facilities available around the campus are expensive. Students often choose to remain in the university hostel.

Exciting Placement Record

GLA University is well known for its exciting placement records each year. Students from various parts of the country tend to pursue education at GLA for better placements. Every year, students get placed in reputed companies. 

A strong alumni network and incredible placement training are critical factors for GLA University's commendable placement records. As per the 2023 statistics, an Engineering student bagged the maximum package of INR 55 LPA, and a Management student bagged INR 19 LPA.

The placement committee provides comprehensive support to students throughout the placement process. Career guidance counselling, resume building, interviews, and pre-placement training are provided to keep students ready for placements from the beginning of the course.

Life at GLA University 

GLA campus life is positive and happening. GLA campus environment is friendly, and students from various parts of the country support each other. There is no language barrier between students; everybody is fluent in English and Hindi. Since the GLA campus has residential hostel facilities, it is well-lit at night, and students can indulge in various extracurricular activities.

Students often complain about the strict rules and regulations imposed by the GLA University management. Students must maintain 75% attendance to be eligible for annual exams. Also, students must wear their respective uniforms and are allowed to wear casual clothes once a week. 

Past students think that campus life is mostly academic-oriented as they will be packed with tight schedules. Yet, students also feel that campus life was fun and they had the best days.
