Library:
The Library is an outstanding feature of City College. Accommodated in a very spacious Central Hall, it has the choicest collection of 69,108 books, 45 journals/ periodicals and 15 newspapers. It has a good Reference Library section suitable for postgraduate studies. The collection of Reference Section has already been computerized through software for University Libraries (SOUL) of INFLIBNET. 95% of the library books are computerized for regular issue.

Mana T.V:
Government of Andhra Pradesh had entered in to a MOU with ISRO for establishing multi channel Satellite network and using the KU-Band for promoting the use of Information Technology for the overall development of the state. It has been designated as MANA TV.
The Information Technology & Communications Department of the State Government has constituted SAPNET (Society for Andhra Pradesh Network) to undertake educational programmes production and Telecasting of Video lessons on behalf of all the wings of Education.
In the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education a separate wing called Mana TV Cell is established to administer the programmes of the Mana TV, content generation, correspondence and finance management of the budget allotted etc.
NCC:
The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its head Quarters at New Delhi. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis.
NSS:
National Service Scheme was launched in the Mahatma Gandhi Birth Centenary year 1996, as a student youth service programme, National Service Scheme (NSS) aims at arousing social consciousness of the youth with an overall objective of personality development of the students through community service.
DRC:
The District Resource Centre (DRC) was established in 2008 by the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education with a vision to have an exchange of teaching programme among the colleges that are established in the same district. The Government City College is the DRC center for Hyderabad district.
Extension Activities:
Apart from regular curricular activities, the college organizes various programmes for the all round development of the students which include co-curricular, extra-curricular and extension activities.
Women Empowerment Cell:
The Government City College, Hyderabad has started An Women’s Cell for the empowerment and development of women.
Ward Counselling:
One of the revolutions in the present educational system is counseling. Though this was a continuous process in our ancient Gurukula System of education, in the present educational system it is changed into the different forms. One of such forms is ward counselling.
In this system the students will be divided into groups. Each group will contain 20 to 30 students. For every group there will be one In-charge faculty member.
