The Government College for Girls [GCG], was established in 1943 at Ludhiana, Punjab. The college started to impart quality education to the girls in the remote parts of Punjab. The college has been glorious and known for its education to date. The college campus is spread over 45 acres of land and has 10 acres of the built-up area which is in all spheres-in scholastic and extracurricular activities.

The college stands as a reputed and popular college in northern India. The college also has a positive attitude towards technology to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of governance. GCG Ludhiana Admission is available for UG, PG and Diploma courses. The College started with 25 students and 6 teachers and currently, it empowers around 3000 girls which includes the girls from rural areas and imparts them with the best value and quality based education.

The college is situated at Sylvan which is full of beauty and well maintained. The academic culture is a high-class educational environment that makes the teacher and the students take pride in being associated with a great institution. The college has 86 distinguished teachers in which 17 are Ph.D. holders and 30 are M.Phil and also have an almost equal number of non-teaching staff. The college visions to lay emphasis on the knowledge society and information society in emerging the international trends which can reach to grow and develop the society.

The inception of the college was as early as 1943 during the British Raj. The college has a strict anti-ragging policy and is one of the largest, best-equipped, and well-known colleges in Northern India.

GCG Ludhiyana provides residential facilities for the students. The hostel has a TV and indoor games and other infrastructural facilities. GCG Ludhiana Facilities include 75 rooms which accommodate 250 students every year. The mess provides a hygienic, fresh, and balanced diet to the students.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Firstly, You must have completed your senior secondary in science stream with approximately 75 % and then one has to fill the admission form and wait for selection list and then if one's name appears on it then she would have to attend the interview. There is no entrance test for this program. It is not fixed, however, it is normally above than 75 % or approximately 75%

Fees & Scholarships : I am not very sure I think it’s rs 2000 per year and only the scholarship provided by the state government is availed and don’t think anybody would need any loan.

Academics & Faculty : Well the daily routine is very simple in other words it’s the same as school, moreover, the quality of the education is very good. However, the overall experience is would be 8 on a scale of 10.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : I don’t know about the hostel fee or pg’s as I am a resident of Ludhiana. The other recreational facilities are good, However, phones are not allowed in the campus.

Clubs & Associations : There is science society, Red Cross and many more. Cultural fests are the lifeline of the college moreover talking about life in college it’s more or less like a school.

Placements & Internships : I don't know about more for this because I am studying final year so I don't know about any internship or any salary departments. But this course is helpful for our bright future. Music makes a person stress free.
