The State Government has decided to enhance scholarships for college students and those pursuing technical courses.
A decision to this effect was taken at a high-level meeting presided by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today. Plus Two, degree, post-graduate, engineering, medical, dental, agriculture and veterinary students will be eligible for the enhanced scholarships.
It was also decided that more students will be given scholarships from the current academic year. The junior merit scholarship for the Plus Two students has been increased from `40 to `300 per month. Senior merit scholarship for degree students has been hiked from `50 to `500 per month.
The PG merit scholarship will be ` 1000 per month. This has been enhanced from ` 60. The scholarship for students pursuing engineering, medical, dental and other technical studies will be ` 10,000 per year.
The income limit of the parents for availing the scholarship for their wards has been enhanced to ` 4.5 lakh per year from ` 24,000. Interested students can apply for the scholarship to the Higher Education Department through their respective colleges.
While 5000 students will be given the scholarship at the Plus Two level, this will benefit 1000 students at the degree level.
At PG level, the scholarship will be given to 500 students. Besides, 10,000 students from different technical courses will be extended the scholarship.
The Chief Minister underscored the need for creating awareness among the students about the new scholarship structure.
He said the students should get the scholarship amount at the right time.
Higher Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, Bijay Kumar Patnaik, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Additional Development Commissioner Rabinarayan Senapati, Principal Secretary in the Finance Department Jugal Kishore Mohapatra, Secretary, Higher Education Department, Madhusudan Padhi, and senior officials were present.

Fees & Scholarships : Government College of Engineering, Bhawanipatna B.Tch Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 33,500. Government scholarship for SC St and obc students are there.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : After JEE exam result is published you need to register your name in State JEE i.e OJEE with the provided application / Student No. Of JEE. After some time you have to make a list of colleges you are interested to go. Then the 3 allotments will come after few duration respectively and the final allotted college will be provided by the council according to your JEE rank.
Placements & Internships : During the course 2 internship is required to be done by a student of their own. The stipend is there for Sc/St and Obc student yearly. Companies like TCS, WIPRO, TECH MAHINDRA etc recruit the students. Off-campus, placement is PREFERRED for good salary packages.
Academics & Faculty : Class time is divided into two parts The first Schedule starts from 9 am to 1 pm. These are the theory classes. And then the second schedule which begins from 2 pm to 4 pm. Practical classes. The faculty member is very good and experienced. I'm here from last 2 yrs and feel very glad to be a part of GCEk family. Whether the teacher or student both are very supportive and the environment of college is peaceful.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : (3 hostels). 2 for boys and 1 for girls. Hostel fee is near about Rs 25,000 half yearly. Workshop for practicals. The classroom is good. The facility of Labs for all branches. Full campus is Wi-Fi zone. SBI bank and Atm. Cafeteria. Daily need shops. Stationery Shop. Student Activity Center. Playground.
Clubs & Associations : Clubs Like Robotics Club NCC Mob-e-dispacitoz dance club. Insprano, Udaan, Awhaan are tech, cultural and sports festival respectively. Anugoonj is Annual Function celebrated every year will high budget. Celebrity night and Dj night are arranged for students.

Fees & Scholarships : Course fee is INR33000+INR1500 per year . With hostel charges of INR23950 per semester. Prerna And E-Medhabruti scholarships are available which are availed to almost 60-70% of the students. Loans are easily available from SBI or IDBI banks.
Placements & Internships : Internships are highly encouraged here . Mainly IT Firms are hiring from here with highest package of INR5lakhs per annum.
Academics & Faculty : Class timing is 9am to 12am and then 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Quality and method of teaching is not so good due to presence of inexperienced faculties. Overall experience in college is we can say okay but not good.

Clubs & Associations : Students are better teamed up together here. Festivals are celebrated at it best as per the sanction level regularly ex. Cultural, technical, sports, etc. Life in college is going to be memorable, I bet. Coz the days will start with strange surrounding and you will be sedates by the environment easily. Fees & Scholarships : My course fee is INR 10,000 to 17,000 for SC/ST candidates and INR 40,000 to 70,000 for other candidates. Scholarships are available for the students and around 90% students avail it every year. The educational loan is not required.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : Candidate must clear the JEE MAIN exam and must have passed the 12th from the recognized institute to get admission in this college. The cutoff rank must be below 5,00,000.
Placements & Internships : I haven’t done any internship yet. Many MNC's hire our students. The alumni network is very good.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : We have 3 hostels, 2 for boys and 1 for girls. Food provided by them is food and also PG's are also available on our campus. Quality of Classrooms, Labs, Libraries, dining halls is good and we have wifi facility.
