Library
The College Library is the hub of learning with a rich collection of about 1,31,878 books, standard reference sources. The library subscribes to around 12 periodicals/ Journals.
The library Reading Rooms can accommodate around 50 students. The Library is open on all working days from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The timings of the Library during the examinations and the vacations will be informed from time to time. It will be closed on Sundays & holidays.
Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, and other kinds of work which are in constant demand, costly books and other books which may from time to time be considered necessary for ready reference are placed in this section. Reference books may be referred to only within the premises of the library.
Student Advisory Bureau
SAB was established in the year 2006 to provide valuable advice to students, the working hours of the bureau is between 11 AM to 2.00 Pm in the working days. Following activities have been organized time to time by the SAB throughout the year.
Games & Sports
Games and Sports: The facilities of important indoor and outdoor games are available in the college—such as hockey, cricket, volley-ball, table-tennis, lawn-tennis, badminton, chess etc. There are two posts of P.T.I. in the college. In addition, Professor-in-charges are appointed for selection and participation activities.
Knowledge Centre
The college boasts of the Knowledge Centre in its campus. The objective of this centre is to provide help in getting employment to college graduates in the state. It is important to bridge the gap between the student and the opportunity for providing employment. Helping out the student to prepare for the right job and to brush up the talent for achieving the goal is very important aspect of education in the world today. Thus, it increases the overall employability graph of the students.
To promote campus recruitments along with industry interface in the colleges and to eliminate paucity of awareness and shortage of skilled personnel the Government is encouraging the setting-up of Knowledge centres. Majority of students, coming from the rural background, are weak in communication skills, soft skills and several other employability skills, which are the essential requirements of the industry or the corporate world.
To realize this goal, training courses are being run under the auspices of the Knowledge centre in an environment conducive to learning. The centre is efficiently run by New Horizons Private Limited, New Delhi. Third year and second year degree students and also, the students who are pursuing Post-Graduation is the target group of this scheme.
UGC- Network Resource Centre (UGC-NRC)
UGC- Network Resource Centre of Dungar College was established in the academic session 2004-05 with an objective to create awareness among the staff and the students about the application of computer networking in various activities like administration, finance, examination, research and many others. The availability of Network Resource Centre makes Dungar College one of the premier institutions of the state. Furthermore, the information and communication network would help the college to have an access to multimedia material in teaching and learning at places of eminence in India and abroad.
Actually, in the Xth Plan, UGC proposed to establish “UGC NETWORK RESOURCE CENTRES (UGC-NRC)” in Colleges, where assistance would be provided for the purchase of Computers and also for Internet Connectivity.
In UGC- NRC Internet connectivity is available in the Knowledge Centre and Language Lab, where 10 computers are connected through LAN facility. Moreover, every nook and corner of the college campus including all Departments, Principal Chamber, Accounts Section, Establishment Section, Library, and the Store of the college are enriched with the internet connectivity which disseminates the knowledge of information and communication technology amongst the students, the faculty members and the ministerial staff of the college.
Canteen
During the recess hours for refreshment to students College canteen facility with snacks etc. The control on canteen contractor is done by administrative person on food quality and strictly prohibiting smoking in canteen as well as in and around the campus.
The canteen works from 9.00 a.m. To 5.00p,m to provide food at subsidized rate.
