FACILITIES
Guwahati College Library was established with the establishment of the College in the year 1964. S. P. Bhattacharya, retired professor of the department of Bengali of the College was the In-Charge Librarian till qualified librarian Nagen Talukdar joined the service in 1976. The Library has very good collection of textbooks, reference books, journals, popular journals etc and cater to the needs of the readers. The modern library services and facilities have been progressively implemented to keep track with the changing scenario of library services.

BSNL Broadband connection is available to access internet resources. At present 5 computer terminals are available for internet service in the College library.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There is neither hostel nor pg in our college. Food is available in the canteen. Food is average. Quality of classroom is good. Labs are good but it can be more good if there would be some more high instruments.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : To get admission in the Guwahati College I had to get more 58% in HS examination and to get the major in a particular subject I had to appear a selection test. I took only the major selection test. The cut off was based on the HS examination marks.
Placements & Internships : Since we join the college we haven't got any chance to take part in any internships.
Fees & Scholarships : Fee includes examination fees and admission fees. Scholarship is not available. As much I know, till date the no one get any scholarship. Yes, the educational loan is very much needed for us who belongs to below poverty line. It'll be easily available if there would be any website to apply for a scholarship and it'll be easily available in SBI.
Academics & Faculty : The daily routine is good. Class starts from at 8:45 and ends at 3:45. There is two university exam and sometimes our department takes some class test. We regularly get assignments and projects including presentation. The quality of teaching is good but due to lacking experienced teachers we are not able to get a high level of education. The overall experience is good.
Clubs & Associations : Student society is good. The main campus is a cultural evening. We also celebrate Freshman social day. In general, college life is all good

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : No accommodation of hostel in college, Students rather have to stay in nearby PGs and their monthly fair is around INR1500. The college had its own canteen its cost are bit low as compared to outside shops. Class room are not good as it was established during 1964. Libarary in the dept itself.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The college is affiliated to Guwahati University for Degree Course in Arts, Science, and Commerce with or without major.The Duration of the Course is three years. As a result of the introduction of semester system by Guwahati University, there will be 6 semesters in the graduate programmes. Eligibility:10+2 and minimum 50% Willing students will have to apply for Major Course to the Heads of the respective Departments who will select students by conducting departmental entrance test. Admission Procedure: Application for admission to the college should be made in the prescribed form available with the college prospectus on payment of INR 200 The prospectus may be obtained from the college office on all working days. No application will be accepted after the last date of submission of forms. Admission to the college is strictly on the basis of merit. Last year the cutoff mark for geography was 80% 20 out 17 students securing top position in the examination and 1st class with Distinction in Guwahati College.
Placements & Internships : Some of the students have worked as assistant professor in college itself and others are in the different field of geographers.
Fees & Scholarships : TDC Ist year (Arts) Major INR 3565 State Merit Scholarship INR 110 per month for BA students. Merit-cum-scholarship. Lower income groups scholarship.SC/ST fee compensation.
Academics & Faculty : College Hours: The classes start at 9:00 a.m and go up to 5:15 p.m Examination: 1st, 2nd,3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th-semester exam are conducted by GU itself. Teaching faculty is friendly in nature.They teach students in a homely environment. Overall my experiences in last 3 years in the college are memorable.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria for getting admission into Guwahati College is getting at least a 1st division in the 10 and +2 examination. No entrance exam is required and the admission is solely based on 10 and +2 percentage. Typical cutoffs for my course was first to get the 1st division and second to get a good mark in chemistry
