Boarding & lodging: Because this is a fully residential program, cadets are housed in well-designed rooms/dormitories with a night warden and one executive officer on duty to enforce discipline. To enable the cadets to become acquainted with many sorts of culinary preparations, the food is given is of diversified cuisine. The food is wholesome and the diet is well-balanced.

Workshop and Laboratory: The space is well-designed and well-equipped. Engineering and nautical cadets have access to workshops. The workshops, which are equipped with lathe machines, shaping machines, milling machines, welding and gas cutting equipment, plumbing and carpentry equipment, bench and pipe fitting equipment, electric and electronic controls, refrigeration machinery, hydraulics and pneumatics trainer, Diesel shop, Auxiliary, and other equipment, have been set up in Greater Noida to provide cadets with in-house training in the use of vanes. IMI is India's only completely equipped private institute with full maritime workshop training facilities, thanks to its fully equipped marine workshops.

Ship Handling and Engine Simulators: The Nautical cadets are given hands-on training for steering practice on the Bridge simulator besides the functioning of Navigation equipment like Radar, Echo Sounder, Electronic Charts Display is demonstrated to supplement the theory with practice. Engine Simulator is used to simulate on-board scenarios and functioning of various ships machinery for Engineering cadets to reinforce the theory.

Library: IMI has a well-stocked library with technical books on all connected subjects as well as a recreational library with best sellers for the cadets' enjoyment. Cadets are given textbooks, which must be returned at the end of the term. Cadets need to purchase their own stationery.

Recreation: Time is set aside for recreation, which is now considered important for general development and is included in the training. Table tennis, basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, indoor games, swimming, and other sports are available at IMI. There is also a television. On certain days, video films are shown.
Computers: IMI includes a computer lab that is fully equipped and connected to the internet. Here, students receive training in the use of computers and simulations. Computers are now standard equipment on most ships, and cadets must be familiar with them.

Audio and Visual Aids: For educational purposes, audio and visual aids are available. On a regular basis, video training videos on pertinent topics are displayed.
