JD Birla Institute is a private institution established in 1962 affiliated to Jadavpur University. The college has also received accreditation from NAAC ‘A’ grade in 2010. The college was named after Smt. Jawahari Devi Birla. College is situated in the old city of Kolkata. The college provides education in the field of Science and Commerce. In 1997, the Department of Commerce was started under the college.

INR 96,300 is the JD Birla Institute Fee structure which needs to be submitted at admission for BCom course.
JD Birla College accepts students for BSc(Honours) based on marks in the qualifying exam and followed by an aptitude test and personal interview. For admission in BCom, group discussion is conducted. Admission is given to girls only.

MSc, MCom and PG Diploma are postgraduate courses which are offered by JD Birla Institute to the students. Admission is done on the basis of merit in the graduation and also followed by personal interview and gd rounds for the different specialisation of the course.
Students interested in admission in postgraduate degrees of the college should have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate of 55%. For admission in MCom students should have a bachelor’s degree in BCom from Jadavpur University with a minimum of 55% aggregate.
