Kannur University was set up in 1996. The university was priorly known as Malabar University. It is unique because it is a multi-campus university with campuses spread over various locations under its jurisdiction. Admission 2024 is in process for various UG, PG & Certificate courses in commerce, management, engineering, law, etc. Admission to the seats is to be filled by Kannur University based on the entrance test conducted by the University.

Kannur University has been approved by the University Grants Commission [UGC] and is accredited with a Grade ‘B’ by NAAC. The University has a total of 107 affiliated colleges in three districts- Kannur, Wayanad, and Kasargod. KU had come into existence by the announcement of an Ordinance on 9th November 1995 by the Governor of Kerala.

Kannur University Admission

Kannur University admission 2024 are in process for various courses such as BBA, B.Com, B.Tech, BA LLB, BBA LLB, MBA, M.Com, LLM and other courses. The admissions take place after the students pass the entrance exams of the university and various other entrance exams accepted by the university. The selection of applicants will be done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination followed by an interview conducted at the university.

Kannur University Eligibility Criteria

KU has certain criteria for admission to be fulfilled by the students. The candidates should check their eligibility before applying for the various courses. The eligibility details for some courses are mentioned below

B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate should have passed 12th with physics, mathematics, chemistry/biotechnology, language and another subject and scored a minimum of 45% marks.
• Selection is done on the basis of JEE scores.

M.Ed Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should have a B.Ed degree from Kannur University or
• B. Ed Degree is recognized by Kannur University as equivalent thereto with not less than 55% marks.

M.B.A Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
• Selection is done on the basis of CAT scores.

Kannur University has seven campuses in various districts of Kerala namely, Kannur, Kasargod, Mananthavady, Nileswaram, Mangattuparamba, Payyannur and Thalassery. The University also runs the School of Distance Education (SDE) which offers undergraduate, postgraduate and certificate courses in a wide range of specialisations. At present, there are 27 departments offering courses in Science, Commerce and Arts streams. The University also holds 33 schools and 6 IT, Management Studies, MBA and Teacher Education Centres. There are around 94 departments & colleges in Kannur University for which the cutoff will be determined based on the reservation categories and seat availability.
