About Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Kochi:

On 20th November 2010 Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS), was established and is an autonomous public funded institution. KUFOS is the first fisheries university in the country. KUFOS provides high-quality instructional programmes in fisheries, ocean sciences and allied subjects.

Eligibility Criteria at Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Kochi:

Bachelor of Fisheries Science [B.F.SC]:

• Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (HSC) examination from a recognised board in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together and minimum 50% marks in Biology separately.

Master of Technology [M.TECH]:

M.Tech. in Integrated Coastal Zone Management:

• The Candidate should have completed B.Tech/BE degree in Integrated Coastal Zone Management/ Civil Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Environmental Engineering/ Harbour Engineering/ Coastal Engineering.

• The Candidate should have scored at least 50% aggregate in his/her qualifying degree.  

M.Tech. in Ocean and Coastal Safety Engineering:

• The Candidate must have completed a B.Tech. degree in Marine Engineering / Civil / Mechanical / Safety & Fire / EEE / Naval Arch.
• The Candidate should have scored 60% aggregate preferably with GATE/NET.

M.Tech. in Coastal and Harbour Engineering:

• The candidate must have completed a B.Tech. degree in Civil / Mechanical / Marine / Naval Arch.
• The Candidate should have scored 60% aggregate preferably with GATE/NET.

M.Tech. in Fisheries Engineering:  

• The Candidate must have completed B.F.Sc. degree or B.E./B.Tech. degree in Mechanical / Civil / Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.

Master of Laws [LLM]:

• Candidates should have cleared the LL.B.
• Degree Examination of any University in the State of Kerala or of any other Univerecognisedgnized as equivalent.
• The candidate should have scored 55% marks in the aggregate (50% for SC/ST Students). 

Master in Business Administration (M.B.A.):

• The Candidate should have completed Graduate/Post Graduates in Science, Arts, Commerce or professional graduates from Indian/Foreign Universities. 
• The University should be recognised by AICTE/UGC/KUFOS.
• The candidate should have scored at least 55% marks in aggregate in optional subjects under the system (10+2+3).
• For SC /ST candidates, there is a relaxation of 5% in the minimum required aggregate

Admission procedure for Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Kochi:

Candidates have to produce the following documents at the time of counselling:

• Original S S L C, class 12 certificate, hall ticket of KUFOS entrance examination, Transfer certificate (TC) and conduct certificate.
• Certificate of the qualifying degree and mark lists of all semesters / years of qualifying degree is not available.
• candidates have to produce all marklists upto the last but one semester of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
• Community certificate in original from the concerned Tahsildar in the case of SC / ST candidates.
• Non –Creamy layer Certificate in the prescribed format in original from the concerned Village Officer for community reservation claims in the case of SEBC / OEC candidates.
• Original certificates as proof in support of any claim for special reservations.
• Original medical certificate from a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon.
• A copy of the first page of the bank account passbook of the student.
• Three passport size photographs I. Copy of the Adhar card

Hostel facility at Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Kochi:

• KUFOC provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls as well for staff within the campus.
• Hostels are provided with all the basic required essentials.
• KUFOC also maintains a well-furnished guest house.
• The Men’s Hostel can accommodate 60 students and has two guest rooms.
• The Ladies’ Hostel can accommodate 133 students.
• In addition to UG hostels, there is a PG hostel to accommodate Post Graduate students.
• Priority in admission to hostel shall be given to SC/ST, physically hand+3icapped students and other eligible categories.
