Marian International Institute of Management was established as an initiative of the Catholic Diocese of Kanjirappally. There are several institutes under the Diocese with National and International accreditations. MIIM was established to meet the growing demands of MBA graduates. The institute doesn’t differentiate between a fresher or an experienced student. The MBA program offered by the MIIM is accredited by NBA and is approved by AICTE. It is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University.
MIIM course includes a full two years MBA program. The faculty is well trained and the institute focuses mainly on research, projects and consultancy. The exposure of the college is remarkable. They have designed the curriculum stressing on all-round development and research. Also, there are student and faculty exchange programs, international programs and faculty visits.
The college offers two months internship during summer vacations which is compulsory. Moreover, all the students get opportunities to take part in MIIM Placement. The Master of Business Administration is accreditated by NBA. The Institute was visited by NBA expert team during 13th and 14th July of 2017. NPTEL:
The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning [NPTEL] courses are an initiative of MHRD, Government of India which is co-sponsored by Google and NASSCOM.
NISM:
This course helps the market participants of India to develop their financial skills to a top-level and expertise. This will help them offer high-quality service and actions who wishes to invest in the financial markets.
Copywriting:
This certification course is designed to build writing logic and learning the fundamentals of writing for the web amongst students.
Six Sigma Green Belt:
This certification course is where the participants will be offered an introduction on tools and methods that are important to participate in DMAIC improvement projects. This course has a focus on the basic structure of DMAIC.
Competency Mapping:
This certification program is one of its kind constructed and delivered by the veterans of the industry. This program is delivered virtually and it includes a blended approach consisting of e-modules and virtual simulation. SAP:
This is more of the most sort out certifications in the present business environment. Getting better jobs is one of the major reasons for people choosing this certification.
English Proficiency:

National Conference:
ON 15TH October 2019, the Department of Finance organised a National Conference under the theme of 'Illustrative changes in the Indian Financial System and its impact on the Indian Economy.' The aim of this conference is to bring policymakers, academicians, practitioners, researchers from the areas of Accounting, Banking and Finance together.
It was inaugurated by Ms SairaZiauddin [Chief Guest - DGM, Financial Inclusion, ICICI Bank]. It was followed by a technical session by Mr Sajin Francis. The conference was attended by students and academicians from 16 colleges. A cash price of INR 10,000 was presented to the Best paper among faculty and research scholars. For students category, a cash price of INR 5,000 was presented.
CALIGO 0.5:
Caligo is a national level management fest organised by MIIM. This fest provides the students with the opportunity to unveil the hidden talents in them. Caligo 0.5 is a mini Caligo which is organised by MISTA. It provides the students with a chance to exhibit their talents in front of the management and other students.
It was arranged and co-ordinated by MISTA Union. Caligo 0.5 was started on June 28th, 2019 with 12 mentoring groups competing with each other. The aptitude test was the preliminary round for all the events and the ones who cleared this round were selected for further rounds.
The second-year students of the institute were the judges for all the events. Some of the events that were organised are - Mr Dancer, Best Mentoring Team, Fresher King and Queen, Best Singer and Best Actor, etc. The final rounds took place on July 22nd, 2019.
CALIGO 2K19 [National Level Management Fest]:
Caligo 2K19 was a two day National Level Management Fest. It was hosted by the MBA students at MIIM. It took place on September 26th and 27th. There was massive participation of 780 students from numerous colleges in and around South India. Marvel's Avengers was the theme of the fest.
The events were released on Facebook and Youtube by the Veteran Actor Jayasurya. The highlights of Caligo were - HR Marketing and Finance, Best Management Team, Best Buddies and Photography, Treasure Hunt, Business Quiz, etc. There were many spot events as well. The total prize money was over INR 2.6 Lacs.
The fest was inaugurated by Mr Ashok Mani on September 26th. MIIM students performed in the YOLO Night - Caligo Cultural Night on 26th which was an unforgettable performance. All the events and activities of the fest were arranged by MBA students.
CALIGO Hut:
A Caligo Hut was built near the basketball court as a part of Caligo 2K19. The construction of the hut took 5 days. It was one of the unique attraction of the fest. It was inaugurated by Rev Fr Reji M Cherian.
CALIGO Theme Song:
The theme song of Caligo 2K19 - Porkalam was an initiative and dreams of the students. The launch of the audio was done by Mr Jinse Gopinath and the video launch was released by Jayasurya on Sep 14th, 2019. The theme song was programmed by Tharavadan Beats. It was sung by Ricky Joseph, Akhil Mathew, Binitha Elsa and Ashly Mathews.
Freshers Day:
Freshers Day was organised on June 7th, 2019. It was a day filled with joy, music, excitement, enthusiasm, happiness and laughter. It was started by the chief guest RJ Shampu.
Graduation Ceremony:
The graduation ceremony for the batch 2017-2019 was organised on July 20th, 2019. Mr Aju Jacob, Director, Synthite Industries Ltd. graced the occasion. The ceremony started with the lightning of the lamp by principal Rev Fr Regi M Cherian. It was ended with the vote of thanks by Dean External Affairs Prof. Samson Thomas.
IMC Workshop:
A workshop on 'Advertising Design, Creativity and Copy Writing' was held by Mr Nibu John, Director of Mindmine Communications, Kochi on Oct 10th, 2019. He has an experience of over 15 years with leading national and international advertising agencies. Certificates were also given to the participants for this workshop.
Industrial Visit 2019:
The Industrial Visit of 2019 was made to Theni Gurukrishna Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd. and Bojraj Mills. Around 117 students with 6 faculty members went to the industrial visit. The students who attended Bojaraj Mills also took part in a seminar conducted by industry experts. The visit came to an end after visiting the Vaiga Dam.
MISTA Inauguration:
The Marian International Students Association [MISTA] is a group of selected students representatives of the institute. The new union of MISTA was selected on Jan 24th, 2019 for the academic year of 2019-2020. It is a collection of 9 gems who can also be addressed as Navaratnas are students belonging to various political, cultural and regional backgrounds. The union was inaugurated on June 7th, 2019 and they took oath under the guidance of Rev Fr Reji M Cherian.
AARPO 2K19 - Onam Celebration:
The Onam celebration was done at the campus on 3rd and 4th of September under AARPPO 2K19. Everyone on campus was dressed in traditional clothing. There were events like Athapookkalamideel, Shingarimelam, Malayali Manga and Malayali Mannan were also conducted.
Faculty Exchange Program:
Marian International Institute of Management has signed an agreement with Berjaya University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for faculty and student exchange program, joint conferences and internships. The students of the institute got a chance to visit this university from 1st to 3rd July.
Teachers Day Celebration:
Teachers Day was celebrated on Sep 3rd, 2019 in the institute. It was a two-hour program filled with colourful and fun games and events. Guru Dakshina was offered by the students to their teachers.
Induction:
The Institute welcomes the students into the organisation through an induction session. This helps in effective integration of the new students into the institute. Furthermore, this helps the students adjust to the new environment and build bonds with other students.
Walk with Mentor:
Every year, MIIM conducts a program called 'Walk with Mentor'. Under this program, each mentor group chooses a destination and 10 students and their mentor goes for a walk. This helps create an informal bond between students and their mentor.
MAD 2K19 [Make Arts Different]:
MAD 2K19 was the celebration of the Arts and students of the institute participated in many events in their batches. One of the best events of the celebration was the arts fest conducted by Mista Union - MAD 2K19. The event took place on 15th August and was blesses by Star Singer fame Mr Jins Gopinath. Some of the events included - Mimicry, Musical Band, Mime, Ramp Walk, Spot Dance, Group Dance, etc.
Fire and Safety Mock Drill:
MIIM conducted a mock exercise and evacuation drill on July 6th from 10 am to 1 pm to educate the students on emergencies like fire. The drill was conducted in the presence of four safety officers. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Peerumedu fire station conducted a demonstration of using fire safety equipment. The exercise was conducted to create awareness among students of fire fighting techniques and ways to respond in the situations of a fire hazard.
Industrial Visit - Bangalore, Hosur:
The MBA batch of 2019-21 went for an industrial visit on Nov 6th at 8 pm along with the faculty of the institute. They visited a Mango Pulp producing company named Kabini Agro Foods Pvt. Ltd., Tamil Nadu on their first day. They went to TVS Motor Company Ltd. Hosur, Tamil Nadu after that. The company was functioning with the help of robotics and the hygiene of the surrounding was remarkable.
The next visit was at Prakash Automobile Ltd. in Bangalore which is India's leading luxury bus bodybuilder. This visit was followed by a trip to Snow city which is a famous entertainment spot in Bangalore.
Independence Day Celebration:
Marian International Institute of Management celebrated Independence Day on 15th August. The flag was hoisted by Fr Regi Cherian, Principal of MIIM.
Sale 4 Smile:
Sale 4 Smile was a social marketing initiative of 10 MBA students of the institute in association with Musertwinstiktok. The initiative was taken to help a 10th standard student undergo dialysis treatment for both of her kidneys. The required products were purchased in bulk from Malanad Development Society with the help of Prof Bose George.
The sale points included Gurukrupa Mall, St Stephen's Knanaya Church Mannanam, Jyothi Book Stall and St Stephen's Knanaya Forane Church Uzhavoor. It was a two-day program organised on 16th and 17th March. The students were able to raise INR 1,26,000 from the profit and donations received from the program.
Value Education:
A 2 day workshop about value education was conducted on 3rd of October y Thamara Selvi. The workshop was conducted in 2 batches. Lectures, group discussion and dialogues were also conducted during the workshop. The Institute has now introduced Value Education as a course.
Faculty Development Program:
Mr Shinil Sebastian and Mr Bose George attended the Faculty Development Program for student induction by Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering, Bengaluru. It was organised by AICTE from July 23rd, 2019 to July 29th, 2019. IAS officer Mr Abraham Kurienretd conducted an FDP for the faculty of the institute on the topic 'How to conduct a news analysis' on Oct 28th, 2019.
Apart from the events and conferences happening on the campus for a limited period of time, there are many clubs where the students can learn and have fun throughout the year. The clubs of the institute are mentioned below.
E-Cube:
This club helps the students build momentum in entrepreneurial endeavours. It educates them on the best practices. The programs include - the Big Idea Contest, Rising Stars - Alumni Entrepreneurship Award, World Entrepreneurship Day celebration. The inauguration of this club for the academic year of 2019-2020 was done on Aug 5th, 2019.
A welcome address was given by the vice president of E-Cube Ms Asha Maria Abraham. The ceremony was inaugurated by the Cheif Guest Mr John Kuriakose, MD and founder of Dent Care. The felicitation was offered by the faculty coordinator Prof Bose George and the ceremony ended with the thanksgiving vote of E-Cube Treasurer Mr Rhishidev.
MERCADO - Marketing Club:
Field Sales, Meeting marketing managers are some of the many activities of the marketing club. The MERCADO 2019 was inaugurated on Aug 21st, 2019 by Mr Joseph M M, Secretay Malanad Cooperative Society. The winner of MAD - Ad Competition were also announced during the event. A competition called 'AD MAD' of two rounds was also conducted by the club.
Finex Club:
This club caters to various finance-related interests especially investment banking sales and trading private wealth management and corporate finance. The office bearers were selected on July 11th, 2019 in an inaugural ceremony in the presence of Dr Arun Shankar, Dr Shinil Sebastian, Mr Mukund.S and Mr Shino George.
The club was inaugurated on Aug 14th, 2019. Mr Suresh Ramaswamy Deputy Vice President and Zonal Head for Agri retail microfinance was the chief guest of the event. The club aims at offering finance-related careers and guidance required to successfully reach the individual professional goals. Many events like quizzes, analysis of the financial statement, etc were organised.
The Finex Club also conducted a quiz called Dezbator. The quiz consist of three rounds and the final round was a finance-related topic with the title of 'Investment in Mutual Funds or Stock Market'. The winners of the quiz were offered a certificate and cash prizes. The club conducts quizzes for final yeara interns as well.
Vox Populi HR Club:
This is the HR Club of the institute. It aims at offering the students with a breadth and depth of human resource management knowledge and experience. The activities of the club started with the Harvard Business Review Discussion Forum with its preliminary round on Aug 7th, 2019 and its final round on Aug, 22nd 2019. The final round judges were Dr Vincent Varghese and Mrs Feruse Abdul Khadar. The first position went to Hanna Merin and Sonu Fathima of team Tycoons.
The inauguration of Vox Populi Club was done on Oct 12th, 2019 and they launched for the first time as well. The chief guest was Mr Amal Binoy, Dr R Santosh Kumar, Mr Akhil Mathew and Ms Anjana Vijayan. Mr Amal Binoy handled an interactive session with the students of the institute on 'Expectation of Corporates from Freshers'. The prize distribution of the club was done by the chief guest.
Environment Day Celebration:
The nature club of the institute celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2019. There were many events like essay writing, poster-making, slogan writing, debate, quiz, etc all under the theme of 'Save Earth'. Mrs Bijimol was the chief guest for the celebration. Furthermore, the celebration included the distribution of 1000 saplings to the neighbouring places. The winners of the various competitions were given certificates as well.
MIIM placement cell acts as an interface between the students of the institute and companies. Every year the cell invites and hosts companies on campus to hold recruitments of the students. More details related to placements are mentioned below.
