About NIT Calicut 2026 

National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC), also called as NIT Calicut, is a public institution established in 1961 and was known as Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC) until 2002. The NIT Calicut campus spans 300 acres and is located in Kozhikode. In the NIRF ranking 2025, the institute stands 21 in the Engineering category, and for the overall category, it has been ranked on 45.

NIT Calicut offers UGPG, and Ph.D. programs in BTech, BArch, MTech, MBA, MCA, and other courses. The flagship programs offered by the institute is BTech in CSE and MTech. NIT Calicut Admission 2026

NIT Calicut course admission 2026 is based on the national-level entrance exam and counselling, like for BTech and BArch JEE Main with JoSAA counselling, for MTech GATE scores with CCMT counselling, and NIMCET with CCMN counselling is required for  MCA admission. NITC also offer MBA through CAT 2025. The NIT Calicut eligibility criteria for various courses are given below:

  • B.Tech: Candidates are required to have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing 75% marks (65% for SC/ST), and must qualify through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counselling.
  • B.Arch: Candidates are required to have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least 50% marks in each subject and in aggregate, along with qualifying JEE Main Paper 2 and JoSAA counselling.
  • M.Tech: Must hold B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch with 6.5 CGPA or 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwD) and a valid GATE score.
  • MCA: Candidates are required to have a B.Sc, BCA, or BIT degree with Mathematics or Statistics at the 10+2 or graduation level and at least 60% marks, along with qualifying NIMCET.
  • Ph.D: Candidates are required to possess a master’s degree with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks and must qualify through GATE/NET and the institute’s selection process.
