Placements & Internships : The highest salary package is 126 lakhs per annum. I cannot write more about it because I'm only in my first year.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : People need to take JEE Main exam to enter into NIT's. It is the second toughest exam in my country. The cut-off for NIT colleges is 95 percentile and above.
Fees & Scholarships : The National Institute of Technology, [NIT] Rourkela fee structure. The course fee along with hostel fee is 2 lakhs per annum. People who get GPA above 8.5 are worth to take the scholarship which gives total refund for tuition but not hostel fee.
Academics & Faculty : The method of teaching is good. College is ok. I don't like a thing about college because girls are not allowed to roam after 11 p.m. but boys can roam. This is so sexist and this looks like gender discrimination. I don't know much about it because classes are not yet started.

It has invited its students(from metallurgical department) from older batches and ran successfully. Regarding placements, NIT Rourkela has decent placement statistics. The highest salary can be range from 14 to 15 lpa with avg salary of 5lpa in our department.

For students with parents income between 1 and 5lpa, 70 percent of the tuition fee will be waived off. Fir ST and SC's tuition fee will be waived off completely without regarding parents income. Regarding scholarships, NIT Rourkela has provided better scholarship schemes but only minority category students are eligible for it(ST and SC's) including OBC's. General category students hardly find scholarship. Loans are required if necessary for the students with their parents income above 5lpa. Those students have to pay nearly 1lpa per semester and hence can approach to get some loans and these loans can be easily achieved from banks like SBI , PNB etc.
Academics & Faculty : Class timings changes for each day. Each semester consists of 5 theory courses and 3 lab courses.( Theory courses can also be 6 and it depends on the student performance after 1st year). In each week you can have 2 half days and three full days(it can be fluctuate). Sat and sundays are holidays. Teaching method depends on the professor. Some profs use conventional board and chalk method and some uses projector to teach. Although all profs cant be effective in teaching, you can find some best profs and some bitter ones too and it depends on your luck. Some might be very strict and cruel while some might be very friendly. We cant judge each and every prof completely.
