Academics & Faculty : The method of teaching is good. College is ok. I don't like a thing about college because girls are not allowed to roam after 11 p.m. but boys can roam. This is so sexist and this looks like gender discrimination. I don't know much about it because classes are not yet started.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : People need to take JEE Main exam to enter into NIT's. It is the second toughest exam in my country. The cut-off for NIT colleges is 95 percentile and above.

Placements & Internships : The highest salary package is 126 lakhs per annum. I cannot write more about it because I'm only in my first year.

Fees & Scholarships : The National Institute of Technology, [NIT] Rourkela fee structure. The course fee along with hostel fee is 2 lakhs per annum. People who get GPA above 8.5 are worth to take the scholarship which gives total refund for tuition but not hostel fee.

Academics & Faculty : The daily routine is 8:00 am to 5:15 pm. Time slots are there for practical and theory classes, depending on which gaps are there in between the classes. Assignments are imperative. We have Mid sem and end sem in each semester. Exams happen after every one and a half month. The quality and method of teaching is good. One can gain a lot of practical knowledge through labs. The overall experience very gets. One gets to learn a lot. Besides academics, there are 60 plus clubs which help in overall development of an individual. We have almost every sports facility here.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria is that you will have to clear JEE MAINS. Candidates can get admission in this college through JEE Mains.

Placements & Internships : Many companies come to our college. Several PSUs like Bharat Petroleum, TATA steel. Microsoft, L&T, Adobe, Reliance Jio, Exxon Mobile, TATA motors, Vedanta come to higher graduates. The average salary is 6 LPA. Highest has been 40 LPA in Adobe. The Alumni network is very strong of NIT ROURKELA.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : It is the largest NIT in terms of area-1200 acre and it's beautifully built. The infrastructure is really good. We have 7 hostels currently ( 2 for girls, 4 for boys and 1 for married couples). First-year hostel accommodation is compulsory. The food is average here. The cost is 40 Rs per meal. Classrooms are damn good. We have AC in our classroom and libraries. We have LAN for the Internet facility and our DC resource hub gives high downloading speed of 10 Mbps. We have enough space for almost every sport

Academics & Faculty : Class timings changes for each day. Each semester consists of 5 theory courses and 3 lab courses.( Theory courses can also be 6 and it depends on the student performance after 1st year). In each week you can have 2 half days and three full days(it can be fluctuate). Sat and sundays are holidays. Teaching method depends on the professor. Some profs use conventional board and chalk method and some uses projector to teach. Although all profs cant be effective in teaching, you can find some best profs and some bitter ones too and it depends on your luck. Some might be very strict and cruel while some might be very friendly. We cant judge each and every prof completely.

Placements & Internships : NIT Rourkela has a best alumni network. Recently NIT Rourkela has celebrated its golden jubilee function in the metallurgical department. It has invited its students(from metallurgical department) from older batches and ran successfully. Regarding placements, NIT Rourkela has decent placement statistics. The highest salary can be range from 14 to 15 lpa with avg salary of 5lpa in our department.

Fees & Scholarships : If the parents income is less than 1lpa, then the tuition fee will be waived off and rest fee dues like hostel, mess and medical fee will be required to pay. Per semester approximately 30 to 33 thousand fee can be asked to pay for students with income below 1lpa. For students with parents income between 1 and 5lpa, 70 percent of the tuition fee will be waived off. Fir ST and SC's tuition fee will be waived off completely without regarding parents income. Regarding scholarships, NIT Rourkela has provided better scholarship schemes but only minority category students are eligible for it(ST and SC's) including OBC's. General category students hardly find scholarship. Loans are required if necessary for the students with their parents income above 5lpa. Those students have to pay nearly 1lpa per semester and hence can approach to get some loans and these loans can be easily achieved from banks like SBI , PNB etc.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are 11 hostels in our campus. 2 for girls and 8 for boys and 2 for married couples. The hostel fee varies from each hostel and it may costs of 5 to 6k per semester. Food is average in hostel( not so yummy especially if you are from south) and mess fee varies from 12 to 15k per semester. 1st year theory classes will be held in huge lecture avenue (LA)halls.(some labs will be held in LA while rest will be held in department). From second year all the classes and labs will be held in their respective department(mostly). NIT Rourkela has best library with large number of collections and volumes provided with central AC facility.

Clubs & Associations : Life in NIT Rourkela is cool. You can have a part in any sport or game whatever you want without any restriction. Recently our NIT has conducted INTER NIT COMPETITIONS in kabaddi, kho-kho, basketball events. NIT has a sports fest called Vridhi which is conducted during the spring semester each year. NIT Rourkela has a tech fest called Innovision celebrated during the summer semester each year. NIT also has its cultural fest namely NITRUTSAV during the spring semester. There are a lot of tech clubs, social clubs, non-tech clubs, arts clubs(total of nearly 80 to 100 clubs) in NIT Rourkela
