North Orissa University is among the leading universities in India. Every year North Orissa University invites applications for admission to the three years Integrated B.Ed-M.Ed course.

North province University offers Post Graduate regular courses in MA/master's degree / MCA and self-finance courses in Master in Business /MA /master's degree /MSW /MLIS /Integrated BEd + MEd at Baripada field and Post Graduate regular course in MA/master's degree at Keonjhar field. Additionally, the University offers M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs within the regular departments.

North Orissa University Application Process 2024

North Orissa University application process used to be conducted in offline and online mode via form filling or filling up an Application form after successful collection from the university campus and then resubmitting it in the university office itself along with attached documents. Yet, this year, following the rules and regulations of UGC the application process for admissions of the new batch will be conducted through online modes only. 

How To Apply?

Online Mode

Here are some basic steps required for form filling in online mode for NOU:

  • Visit the official website: Link
  • Go to the academics and then  admission category
  • Select the sub-category that you wish to apply
  • Start applying 
  • After applying to make a hard copy of the application fee receipt after successful submission
  • Carry on the fee receipt and application form and acknowledgment letter on the exam day in the examination hall
  • Give your entrance exam
  • Wait for the results to be out

Offline Mode

Here are some steps required for form filling in Offline Mode in NOU:

  • Go to the office of the University
  • Collect the admission form from the office
  • Fill up the admission form along with necessary information

  • After submission, wait for the results to be out

North Orissa University Postgraduate - PG Admission Process

NOU provides combined Integrated B.Ed+M.Ed degree in UG category. The Application Process for this Program has started in September 2020 lately. The deadline for application form submission is 20 November respectively. The Admission is being carried on in Online Mode following the UGC guidelines. NOU Admission 2024 applications are open for M.Phil and Pre Ph.D. till December 15. Interested students can apply through the official website.

Documents Required

Here are some necessary documents required while applying at NOU:

  • Demand Draft(s)
  • All Original Certificates and Mark Sheets from HSC onward (to come back after verification)
  • Original school deed and Conduct Certificates
  • Original Migration Certificate with requisite fee of Rs.65/-. within the kind challan
  • Photocopy of ‘Aadhaar Card’
  • Six Stamp size pictures (if not connected to the applying form)
  • Original Certificates in support of any special claim, such as SC/ST/PWD/ man / NCC/ NSS/ inexperienced Passage theme (to be returned once verification)

Selection Criteria

The candidates are selected strictly based on merit scores gathered in the previous examinations along with the desired national level test scores at different streams.

  1. Selection of candidates for admission shall be made supported their Academic Career (50%) and performance within the Written Entrance Test (50%)

  2. There shall be 75 objective type questions (50 multiple choice

type questions with 01(one) mark each

  1. The remaining 25 questions are going to be of short answer type (fill within the blanks/True or false/ match the columns/ one-word answer type carrying 02(two) marks each). Questions are set from the four-course content of the respective subject at the graduation level

  2.  The candidate has got to

secure a minimum of 30% within the Entrance Test to be eligible for selection for admission.

  1. The duration of the written Entrance Test is going to be for 90 minutes

  2. Merit list of the candidates (after the doorway Test) are going to be prepared by taking into consideration the marks within the entrance test (50%) and marks in career assessment (50%). just in case of discontinuity for every year of gap after +3 Degree examination, 2 (two)

marks are going to be deducted from the overall career marks for preparation of the merit list

  1. In case of a tie, the position of the candidates on the merit list shall be determined based on marks secured by them within the Entrance Test

  2. In case, two candidate secure equal marks within the entrance test, their relative positions on the merit list shall be determined supported by their marks in graduation level within the Honours/pass subject

  3. In the case of an equality of marks within the Honours subject, the relative merit of candidates shall be determined supported by their aggregate marks within the degree

examination excluding marks in Ancillary and Foundation subjects. just in case pass (Santali/Hindi) students the combination marks within the degree examination excluding the Ancillary and Foundation subjects shall be taken into consideration for the merit list

These were some of the mandatory criteria to get selected in NOU.

Reservation

Here are some necessary reservation criteria to be followed: 

  1. As per the govt. of Odisha notification.HE-FE-III-Admn.-64/14/11710/HE, dated 01.06.2015, and therefore the Odisha Gazette (No.632 dated 19th April 2018) embodying Higher Education Department Notification dated 7th April 2018, the reservation of seats shall be as follows ST-22.5%, SC-16.25%. 

  2. The reserved seats don't seem to be interchangeable between SC and ST categories. SC/ST applicants selected for admission on their merit shall not be counted against reserve seats. 5% of sanctioned seats shall be reserved for Persons with disabilities (PWDs) with the extent of disability not below 40% (blindness and low vision, hard of     hearing, locomotor disability including spastic paralysis, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and genetic defect, autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, and mental illness)

  3. 1% of the sanctioned seats shall be reserved for Self/Children/Wife/ Husband of ex-serviceman Serving (ESM) defense personnel and also the Children of Martyrs (CoM) For Kashmiri migrants relaxations shall be as follows: Such student may be admitted over and above the sanctioned strength (total several seats within the department), to the extent of two seats such candidates are given an extension within the date of admission up to 30 days. The realization is going to be given in cut-off percentage up to 10% subject to the minimum eligibility requirement. Domicile requirements shall be waived Migration in second and subsequent years shall be allowed subject to the condition is given

Preparation Tips

  1. To crack exams to get enrolled in this college the students must have a good preparation along with a good base of Indian studies to secure seed for themselves.

  2. Students must be highly motivated and study in detail their syllabus in respect to their course as they want to get themselves enrolled. As the college has sometimes conducted their entrance exams to get students enrolled as there are limited seats available.

  3. Students should conduct 2 months of strict evaluation and study productively. 

  4. They should set themselves in a strict routine to crack the examination and get fruitful results.
