Computing and Internet Facilities

Around 300  computer systems with latest configurations have been purchased and installed  in different labs. and students make use of them.

A 2 Mbps  Unlimited Broadband connectivity from BSNL  under the plan Business UL 15000  Plus has been obtained and installed  in the computer centre for the benefit of the staff and students. Wi-Fi  connectivity is also provided within the campus for the staff and students.

The  Institute has implemented National Mission on Education through Information and  Communication Technology (NMEICT)   promoted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) in  collaboration with various IITs including IIT Bombay and PSU Major BSNL, India.  This project facilitates  to install 24 x  7 Virtual Private Network (VPN) of 10 Mbps (20 nodes of 512 Kbps each) under  National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology  (NMEICT) Project promoted by MHRD, New Delhi and implemented through BSNL,  Kumbakonam.  Internet access is available  through BSNL-MPLS Cloud with Unlimited data access.
Canteen :

A full-fledged canteen functioning in the college campus and offers food and others items on subsidized rate.

 

Reprographic facility:

Two units of reprographic facility are available in college for use by the staff and students. A private shop for providing Xeroxing, Binding, etc. is functioning in the campus.         

Play fields :

Sports facilities such as Cricket playground, Volleyball court, Basketball court, Football ground etc., are available.  

Water treatment unit  / RO System :

In the college location, the water is having high Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and is not potable for consumption. It has to be treated before supply for drinking.   Five units of Reverse Osmosis water purifier system (RO-20-6S-3H) have been purchased and installed in different locations for the use of staff and students. One 500 litre / hour RO systems is also installed in the campus.

Library :

Books and Journals

The College Library caters to the needs of learning and teaching styles through the provision of access to a wide range of reading materials both in hard and digital form.  It facilitates the planning and implementation of effective teaching-learning process so that it will equip students with the skills necessary to succeed in a constantly changing social and economic environment.  The library has subscribed ejournals to access both International and National level through AICTE portals. The functions of the Library are fully automated through AUTOLIB software. Digital library will be created with back volumes in digital form.

Hostel
 
Hostel Facility for Girls:
Hostel facility for Girls will be provided in the PKIET hostel nearby the College. Security service and caretaker facilities are provided round the clock to safeguard inmates.

 

Hostel Facility for Boys:
Hostel facility for Boys will be provided in a rented building and   security service will also be provided round the clock.

 

Boarding Facility:
Boarding Food will be provided through college canteen and Rs. 85/- per day will be charged (including VAT). The inmates have to pay boarding charges on monthly basis before 5th of every month.
