Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology Kakkanad, Kochi, is a premier educational institution offering excellence in engineering education and research. Managed by the Sacred Heart Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) congregation, RSET is a part of the Rajagiri Vidyapeetham (seat of knowledge), a dream eternal, being unfolded in time through the relentless CMI quest for excellence in the pursuit of Wisdom. RSET is an endeavor of the Sacred Heart Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) – the first-ever indigenous religious congregation for men in the Syrian Catholic tradition of Christianity in India. The CMI congregation, canonically established in 1855, played a major role in revolutionizing the education scene in Kerala in the late 19th century. Heirs to the profound vision of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, one of the founding fathers of the congregation, the CMIs’ have zealously worked towards providing value-based quality education to society at large, irrespective of religious differences, down the centuries. Today, the congregation has more than 400 educational institutions, from schools to professional colleges under its umbrella. The sprawling 90-acre campus is located on the banks of the river Chitrapuzha. It lies close to a large number of industries in the large and small-scale sectors of the industrial belt of Kerala.

Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology Admission 2024

RSET is affiliated to the A.P. J. Abdul Kalam Technological University, Trivandrum, Kerala from the 2015 admissions onwards, and had been affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala from 2001 to 2014. and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The college offers B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. in various specializations. Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology admissions 2024 offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in the field of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering and Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in the field of Computer Science & Information Systems, Communication Engineering, Industrial Drives, and Control, Network Engineering, Signal Processing, and VLSI Design & Embedded System. Candidates are supposed to apply through DTE, Kerala counseling under government seats or apply for college seats on the merit of the qualifying examination. RSET offers a B.Tech course in seven specializations, each for a duration of four-year. The college is a member college of Kerala Catholic Engineering College Management’s Association (KCECMA) according to which 50% of total seats shall be filled by the government through KEAM. The remaining 50% seats will be reserved as college seats to be filled on merit basis. The college’s design-centric undergraduate program has earned a good reputation among industries and foreign universities as well.

To seek admissions at Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology in B.Tech admission is based purely on merit as per the norms of Govt. of Kerala. The college is a member college of Kerala Catholic Engineering College Management’s Association (KCECMA) according to which 50% of total seats shall be filled by the government through KEAM. The total number of seats offered by the college is 720. A candidate seeking admission into the B.Tech course will be admitted on merit of 10+2 qualifying examination and KEAM rank. B.Tech course has a fee structure of INR 3,40,286 for 4 years.

This program imbibes in the students, the various skills and the knowledge required to grow in innovation in the various industries. It challenges the students to look at engineering design through creative problem-solving abilities. The college also offers an M.Tech degree in six specializations at the post-graduation level. If seats remain vacant after the selection, even Non-GATE candidates can apply based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the test conducted by the college. Shortlisted candidates will be called to appear in personal interview. The total number of seats offered is 132 including all specialization.

The college also offers an M.Tech degree in six specializations at the post-graduation level. Like B.Tech, 50% of total seats shall be filled under government quota by the Director of Technical Education, Kerala. A rank list will be displayed by DTE, Kerala for allotment of admissions. The remaining 50% seats shall be occupied through college level admission on merit basis. The selection of the candidate will be based on the valid GATE scores. However, the eligibility for each specialization is BE /B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in aggregate and a pass for SC/ ST candidates. Or candidate with minimum 55% marks in AMIE/ AMIETE examination. M.Tech degree for a tuition fee of INR 2,81,000 for 2 years.

In addition to B.Tech and M.Tech courses, Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology offers Ph.D program to pioneer the evolution of novel design and solution for a social cause. The Ph.D programs impart knowledge and skills towards performing high-quality research in the domain of Design and Manufacturing. A candidate seeking admission into Ph.D. can opt among four specializations offered by the college. The norms and admission rules are as per the rules of APJAKTU. The students are motivated to research key areas in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Mathematics and Electronics streams.

There shall be 3 categories of Ph.D. admission:

• Full-time scholars of the University with or without fellowship.  
• Part-time scholars who are faculty members of the University Departments or Affiliated College.
• External part-time scholars who work in research organizations or R&D centers recognized by APJAKTU.
• Research scholars must apply through APJAKTU Ph.D. Admission Portal after applications are invited in July and January.
