Facities we offer

Computer Centre

R.M.K. College of Engineering and Technology Computer Lab Provides computing support to the user community consisting of students, faculty, research staff and office staff for academic and office automation purposes.

The computer centers with Centralized AC is spread over an area of 1848 square feet and computer center-II has more than 2500 squrea feets. 576 systems of which five of them are servers with configuration of 24GB Ram and 16GB RAM. All other systems have 4GB RAM with 500GB Hard Disk Capacity, which are fully networked and have the latest software. All Center also has 40 Printers and 110KVA UPS with 30 mins backup. The Centre has a 115 Mbps (1:1) leased line Internet connection from TATA Tele Services and Reliance communications.

Library

• The College Library and Information Centre has resources facilitating the Students with the latest Technology in accordance to the International Standards.

• The College Library Contains 18585 Volumes of books with 3984 titles and 1200 CDs. The Library also subscribes to 543 E-Books, 60 National Journals, 525 International Journals, 20 Magazines and 11newspapers. To add to the wealth of options, RMKCET also has institutional membership in the Libraries ofAnna University, British Council, and DELNET (Developing Library Network, New Delhi).

• The Library Services are automated through the Standard Library Software package called “ Autolib 5.2 version” The Circulation System is fully Computerised and all the documents are bar-coded.

Sports

The department of Physical Education has made tremendous progress in sharpening and shaping the various skills in sports, increasing mental strength and inculcating the eagerness in students to excel in their performances, thereby enabling them to outshine and register remarkable feats in their respective sporting events.

Facilities

• Facilities for playing indoor and outdoor games are provided for the students.

A 400 Mts. Athletic track and Field of International standard has been commissioned for the students to develop their sports personality.

Hostel

Separate hostels are provided for boys and girls. Boys Hostel has 100 rooms and can accommodate about 300 students and the Girls hostel has 20 rooms, which can accommodate about 70 students. The hostel rooms are spacious, adequately ventilated, well maintained and furnished with necessary accessories. The hostel also has a separate gymnasium and beauty parlour for the girls and a gymnasium, and air-conditioned saloon for the boys. The hostel, in addition, has a general store for provisions required by the students.

Canteen

A Sound body is essential for a sound mind.

The hostel is annexed with a kitchen, to provide food at protected and hygienic environment along with dining halls, which can accommodate more than 150 students at a time.

Healthy and nutritive food is served. The hostel kitchen has facilities for steam cooking with gas stoves. There are two dining halls covering an area of about 200 sq.m for accommodating large number of students at a time.

Health Care

A clinic, with a few beds along with on call Doctor facility for 24 Hours to take care of, the health requirements of the hostel students, is also made available.
