Academics & Faculty : A full day is usually from 8.30 am to 5.40 pm. Lunch break is from 12.20 pm to 2 pm every day. Saturday and Sunday are off. The time-table varies for every class, generally, there will be at least 1 half-day per week for every class.

The teaching is generally good, there are a lot of qualified professors with Ph.D. and a lot of professors are very knowledgable and they research in interesting topics. Overall experience is good and students who are interested in learning will enjoy being in this college.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria to gain admission into SVNIT is to clear the JEE MAIN exam. The cutoff rank varies every year. It ranges from around 2500 (computer science) to around 8000 (chemical) for open category. Students studying abroad can also apply through DASA quota by writing SAT exam 

Placements & Internships : Placements for computer science department is excellent, almost 100% placement. Placements for mechanical engineering is also good, many core companies come for placements every year. Even major companies like HPCL and BPCL come and offer very high packages.  Average salary: 5 lpa Highest salary: 25-30 lpa (computer science), 10-15 lpa (other streams) 

Fees & Scholarships : Rs. 1,20,000/- is the course fee per year at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, [SVNIT] Surat. Hostel fee is around INR 35,000/- per annum The SC/ST/PH students will get a complete fee waiver. The most economically backward students (whose family income is less than ~1.00 lakh per annum) will get full remission of the fee. The other economically backward students (whose family income is between ~1.00 lakh to ~5.00 lakh per annum) will get remission of 2/3rd of the fee. The fees for foreign students studying through DASA quota is USD 8000 per annum

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are 9 hostels totally, 5 for boys in B-Tech, 2 hostels for M-Tech and Phd students, 1 girls hostel (all departments) and 1 guest house The college is located in the city and finding houses nearby is easy and affordable. The hostel mess food is not that good but that is the case for almost every college. The quality of hostel rooms classrooms libraries are excellent andd many of the buildings are newly constructed

Clubs & Associations : There are several clubs in the college like Renesa (college magazine), Music club, Dance club etc for those who are interested. Small fests are conducted regularly. There are several student chapters like SAE, ISHRAE etc The main cultural fest is Sparsh, its an annual cusltural festival, it goes on for around 304 days its one if the biggest college fests in Gujarat. College experience is very good and enjoyable.
