The School of Distance Education, established in 1976 as a teaching and research department of the University of Kerala, is one of the pioneering centers for distance learning in the state. It was founded with the aim of providing quality education to disadvantaged groups, including women and senior citizens, and promoting career advancement through the diversification and updating of knowledge. The School also focuses on training in both soft and technical skills, contributing to human resource development, and making learning a lifelong and enjoyable experience. SDE Kerala University Eligibility Criteria

SDE Kerala University Admission 

• The prospectus for distance education programs can be obtained from the School of Distance Education office by paying Rs. 250/- through Friends/DD (SBI) or University Cash Challan Receipt.
• Retain the receipt number and counterfoil received during the online registration process.
• Candidates residing outside India must submit an additional DD of INR 265/-, along with a service charge of Rs. 10/- for each bank draft.
• Admission notifications are typically published in major national and regional newspapers.

• All candidates must apply online via the registration portals: www.ideku.net or www.sde.keralauniversity.ac.in.
• Candidates must have successfully completed their +2 level schooling or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university to be eligible for admission to the First-Degree Program.
• Each semester includes a minimum of 10-16 days of Personal Contact Program (PCP), spread over 5-8 weeks, with a total of at least 60 hours of instruction.
• The Odd Semester runs from June to October, and the Even Semester spans November to March each year.

Admission Criteria

• Candidates are shortlisted based on their merit in the degree examination after meeting the qualification requirements.
• To apply for the undergraduate course, candidates must have completed their 10+2 level examination.
• For admission to the undergraduate course, candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• A payment of INR 250 can be made through a DD (SBT) or the university's cash challan receipt.
• The receipt number or counterfoil should be retained for reference during the online registration.
