Academics & Faculty :
Faculty, I would say is quite good for every department. Majority out there (not everyone) on the campus are very knowledgeable and helpful, though some are strict, honestly, you will get to learn a lot from them. Since opinion differs from person to person, so I can’t praise them much (just kidding). The daily routine for a CSE Students varied a lot depending upon their extra-curricular associations. So I'll just try and sum it up for you. Classes: Wake up at 7-30 am, if its a class; 8-30 am if it's a lab. attend the class, maybe sleep in one or two. 12:30/1 lunch. Classes from 2 - 5:30, Lab from 2- 5. Day Offs: Sunday's are usually off. and everyone gets 2 half days per week on an average. A lucky section gets 3, at least they did in my time. My seniors were lucky enough to get both Sat+Sun Off. Free Time: Apart from class timings what you do, is branch independent. I used to work with IE CSE and the Publicity & Printing Teams for Revels and TechTatva, so I usually reached my room late in the evening at about 10 or maybe 11 (4 am during the fests :/) Partying: If your group consists more of a party people, who don't mind slight travelling, many students used to take the 1-30 am train from Udupi and visit Goa for long weekends, or by missing classes. Others simply spent their evenings at DeeTee, Big Boss, etc. Movies: There was no INOX at Manipal back then, so watching movies was a small trip in itself. we either went to Mangalore or took a bus to Udupi, and then to Aashirwad ( a total of 4-5 hours investment, including the run-length of the movie, and the queue length to get the tickets)
Clubs & Associations :
What are the various prominent clubs and it's important personalities in the colleges of Manipal University? This question previously had details. They are now in a comment. Answer 2 Follow Request More 1 ANSWER Jayaganesh Pai Jayaganesh Pai, Computer Science Undergrad at M.I.T. Answered Nov 13, 2014, To name a few: IAESTE India-MIT is one of the most marked organizations not only in Manipal University but also in India. It's an international student's organization which has committees over a large number of countries. It essentially works to give students the technical work experiences abroad. People believe you'd have better chances of getting placed if you have done an Internship through IAESTE for obvious reasons. They have a haunting process of recruiting students in their local committee. IEEE is another international technical student's organization that have their chapter in Manipal. If the technical aspect is your thing, this is the one for you. Good committee members, more awesomeness. AIESEC too is an international student's organization but it isn't really worth it. If getting drunk is your forte, this is for you. IE-CSE is solely for Computer Sciences and IT students. They manage most of the web-based stuff related to college. And then there are IE-ECE, IE-Civils, IE-Aero and other IEs too. IE-CSE is the outstanding club of them all. If drama and acting is your strength, then DRAMANON is for you. This club makes amazing plays and recruits fabulous actors. The feeling you get watching their play is worth the ticket. To work for Space and Satellite, there's PARIKSHIT for you. They're currently making a nano-satellite that's mostly going to be launched soon. If you're a car fanatic, FORMULA-MANIPAL is the best club to work for to learn to build your own race car. They indeed make cool stuff. They work their asses off risking their relationships. It's that cool. For social servicing, VSO, Volunteer Service Organization is your station. Easy to get into and kick your feels in. If writing articles and news, getting sponsorships and conducting interviews of people who matter is what you like, we have our own, MTTN, Manipal The Talk. Net. And the not-so-famous as it is supposed to be, SUMMIT-MANIPAL is for your MUN, Model United Nation.
