About Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, [SGGSWU] Fatehgarh Sahib:
Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, [SGGSWU] Fatehgarh Sahib was established under Punjab State Act Number 20 of 2008 and approved under section 2[f] of UGC Act of 1956. It is a charitable and humanitarian project which is undertaken by SGPC to impart learning to the youth.
The University has a good research history and some of the research topics are Implementation of a Cellular manufacturing Tool for minimization of non-value added activities, economic damages caused by long length power outages on paper mills, the impact of ERP System Implementation in the Engineering Industry, Effect of hydrolyzation, Aging time and temperature on Rheology of Sols. Apart from scientific researches, the university also encourages Religious studies and supports the researches on different religions in the world.
The college facilities include a central library which houses 19240 books, more than 50 journals, 18 newspapers and more than 30 magazines. The library has an online access to electronic journals which are available through UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium. The campus also has an emergency medical facility and a physiotherapy OPD to cater to the mishaps. Sports and hostel boarding and lodging facility is also provided to the students. The companies like AON, Tata Docomo, HDFC Bank, eClerx, Vardhaman, Mozilla are the renowned recruiters of the company to name a few.
