Library
- The College has a well-stocked library with a collection of more than 12312 titles, 42,000 volumes of books along with 85 National,81 International and 128 Online Journals in various disciplines.
- The college has a library and Information Centre which plays a vital role in achieving the cherished objectives of improving the education standard by stimulating academic interest among the students community. The computerized library with a total area of 1200 sq.m.
- Apart from this, it has digital resources facilities for students and staff such as ASME, DEL & IEEE online journals. It is fully automated and all the transactions are Computerized. Books are classified and arranged according to the DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme).Added to these, the library has OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility to enable easy access for the user. It also has a collection of books related to TOEFL, GRE, GATE (All branches), CAT, civil services examinations to help those students to prepare for competitive examinations and placement training.
Hostel
Separate hostels have been provided for boys and girls by the College. Both hostels are fully furnished and all the facilities have been provided for the comfort of the students. Hostel Mess is run by management and not by contract.
Transport
- The transport facility is provided for the staff and students for easy travel from several areas of Thiruvallur, Perambakkam, Uthukottai, Thiruttani and Chennai.
- There are 20 buses catering the needs of the staff and students. They operate through various important routes covering several areas of Chennai and other places.
- Violation of any of the transportation rules or misbehaviour inside the bus will be viewed seriously.
- The buses reach the college campus by 8.10 a.m and leave the college after 3.50 p.m
- The students should carry the bus pass while boarding.
- Separate seats are allotted for women and men students. No boy student should share a seat with a girl student and vice-versa.
- Travel on foot-board is strictly prohibited.
Sports
The College has good and modern playground with sophisticated playing equipments for the benefit of the students. The college conducts sports meet regularly and award prizes for the winners. The college has exclusive sports personnel for the benefit of the students to train them in various sports activities. The students are won prizes in various anna university zonal level tournaments in various games and sports.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Separate hostels for boys and girls. The fee is about 60,000 rupees per year. Lab and classrooms are good but restrooms have to be repaired and library should increase the books level. It costs about 30 rupees per meal at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering & Technology, [SVCET] Thiruvallur. No wifi faculty in our college.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The Admission procedure to join in my college is by two ways, either through TNEA counselling or through management quota seat. The eligibility criteria for getting admitted in our college is you should have completed your HSC/PUC from any of the recognised boards acceptable in India with an aggregate of minimum 65 ℅-70 ℅ in their board exam. There is no specific entrance exams conducted by our college for their admission procedures. The cutoffs must be of the range 160-180 depending upon the deep they opt for. The staffs in our college really give good coaching through continuous tests and assessments. The only problem persisting in our college is their placement issues. Other than that there is no problem regarding our college.
Placements & Internships : I have done an IPT at HCL learning centre and I have received any stipend.companies based on BPO. The average salary figure offered is about Rs 2.5-3.0 lakhs per annum at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering & Technology, [SVCET] Thiruvallur.
