Infrastructure :-

With respect to infrastructure, SRM group of institutions are second to none. VEC has been developed and fully established with 5 imposing multi-storeyed Academic Blocks and 2 Workshop BlocksAll the laboratories have adequate facilities with the latest equipment and machinery to provide optimum exposure to students to learn the subjects both in theoretical and applied aspects.

The Buildings house fully furnished Laboratories, Class rooms, Drawing halls, Conference halls, Offices for HODs, Staff rooms, Seminar Halls, Department Libraries and other facilities as per ‘AICTE Norms and Standards’.

Facilities :-

Central Library

VEC Library is a paradise for those who have a passion for reading Books and enthusiasm for widening their knowledge base in depth and extent. It has a fully equipped spacious library in an area of 2700 Sq.m is spread over 2 storeys and is housed in the New Block. The college has also subscribed for 315 journals and magazine periodicals including IEEE online journal, to give an exposure to our students to the latest technology. The college has a very good separate reference section, two reading halls, a reprographic section and a CD section to cater to the needs of the students and faculty.

Hostels

The College provides good hostel facility and hospitality with healthy and hygienic food for our hostel students. The calm and beautiful environment is conducive for studies, suitable for walkers to have a pleasant walk on the well laid pavements under the natural avenues and lawns.

There are two separate hostels for boys and girls students accommodating about 1200 students. All the hostels have necessary infrastructure and modern kitchen. The inmates are provided with a cot, a chair and a table. There is a cooperative store available in the hostel, to serve the day-to-day needs of the inmates. Hostel admission form is available in the hostel office for sale on payment.

Transport

Numerous hi-tech Air Conditioned buses are being operated connecting almost all parts of the city and suburban for the convenience of the students and faculty.

Computation Facility

Our college has more than a dozen computer laboratories with a total number of 944 terminals. The college also provides Internet facility (10 Mbps) for the benefit of students and faculty.

Sports

The College focuses on the holistic development of students. As a sequel to this, equal emphasis is laid on sports and games along with academics. Students are encouraged to participate and excel in sports in order to provide relaxation, channelise their energy, nurture competitive spirit, enhance team spirit and achieve leadership qualities.

Valliammai Engineering College has taken great care to appoint a well qualified and experienced Physical Education Director with whose unstinted effort the college has been winning laurels in Sports and Games in both intramural and Inter University competitions.

'Sports and Games' is an area much sought after by the student community of this college. Playground and Equipment for outdoors and indoor games facilities are available for meeting the enthusiasm of such students and faculty. Men and women vie with each other to participate in games like Cricket, Foot ball, Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Table Tennis, Ball-Badminton, Badminton, Chess, Throw Ball, etc and in various athletic events.

Canteen

The College provide good canteen facility awith healthy and hygienic food with accomadating around 200 students. Canteen has the necessary infrastructure and modern kitchen.

Medical Facility

SRM multi-speciality Hospital is situated inside the campus. The Hospital has fully equipped modern operation theater complex with laminar flow facility in a huge area of the building where all the major surgeries of all the surgical modalities are performed. The hospital has the following facilities available round the clock (24 X 7)

City Union Bank and Indian Bank and their ATM's are located inside the campus.
