IBPS RRB Exam Pattern 2023: Marking Scheme, Total Marks

IBPS RRB exam pattern 2023 has been released by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). The pattern of the exam has not seen any changes, i.e., it will remain similar to that of previous years’ pattern. Having a clear idea about the pattern will help a candidate to prepare for IBPS RRB 2023 exam in a better way. The exam will be taking place in 3 stages for the post of Office assistant exam and in 4 stages for the post of Officer.

IBPS RRB 2023 Exam Pattern

There will be 3 stages for the selection of Office Assistant: Prelims, Mains and Language Proficiency Test. The exam pattern of each is given below:

IBPS RRB 2023 Prelims Exam - Officer Scale I

The exam will be of 4 stages for the post of Officer. The rounds are Prelims, Mains, Interview and Language Proficiency Test. For officer scale II and III, prelims will not be there. The exam pattern for each stage is as follows:

IBPS RRB 2023 Interview

An interview will be conducted for the post of officers. The attributes that are going to be tested in the interview are communication skills and confidence of the candidate. The questions asked will range from personal to Banking to general awareness.

IBPS RRB 2023 Language Proficiency

This exam's format is not fixed. The candidate can be given a task to write an essay in the local language or may be asked questions from a paragraph in the local language. It is qualifying in nature.

  • Language: All IBPS RRB Tests/sections except Hindi/English will be bilingually available for attempting i.e. in Hindi and English. Candidates can choose between English and Hindi Language paper for IBPS RRB Mains Online Exam.
  • Shortlisting: Candidates who have been shortlisted in the mains examination for the post of Officers Scale I and the single level examination for the post of Officers Scale II and III under CRP-RRB-VI will subsequently be called for an Interview.
  • Final Score: The combined final score of candidates is arrived based on the scores obtained by the candidates in the Online Main Examination.
  • Weightage Ratio: The relative weightage (ratio) of CWE and interview will be 80:20 respectively for the Officers cadre.
  • Interview Location: The request to change the interview location will not be considered by IBPS RRB. However, IBPS may change the date, location of the interview under unforeseen circumstances, if any.
  • Call letter: The call letter for the interview has to be downloaded from the official website only. The call letter will not be sent via post.
