SMS 2024 exam registration is being conducted online for Phase 1 examinations. Candidates may apply on the official website at nmimsmst.in for their desired programme. The last date to register and book exam date slots is Mar 10, 2024. 

SMS 2024 accepts students based on the Mathematical Science Test (MST), to be conducted from Feb 15, 2024, to Mar 15, 2024. Once the exam is conducted, the official authorities will release Merit List I on Apr 4, 2024. Students shortlisted for SMS 2024 courses must upload their documents and pay the mandated fees between Apr 5, 2024 and Apr 12, 2024.

How To Apply For SMS 2024?

Applicants are mandated to register for the MST exam before the subsequent merit list release. Provided below is the step-by-step process for students applying to SMS 2024 admissions for reference:

SMS Registration

  • Step 5: New applicants must provide information such as name, email ID, contact number, address details, etc.
  • Step 6: Once registered, the email ID and mobile number provided will be verified via the OTP process.
  • Step 7: After successful verification, registered applicants must log in to the candidate’s portal using the registered email ID and password.

SMS Login

  • Step 8: Once logged in, applicants must complete the SMS 2024 application form and furnish the correct details.
  • Step 9: The next step requires candidates to pay the application fee as mandated for their desired B.Sc course.
  • Step 10: Students can save the application fee payment receipt for future reference.

About the Courses

B.Sc in Applied Mathematical Computing

B.Sc in Applied Mathematical Computing is a 3-4 year programme (without and with Honours respectively) focusing on mathematical language computing. The in-depth course allows applicants to understand day-to-day problems through mathematical language. A B.Sc in Applied Mathematical Computing develops skills for mathematical insights and solving real-world equations through lectures, practicals, case studies, etc. The course combines modern methodologies with a mathematical foundation to introduce areas such as Financial Mathematics, Mathematical Biology, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning.

B.Sc in Applied Statistics and Analytics

B.Sc in Applied Statistics and Analytics offered under SMS 2024 is a 3-4 year course (without and with honours, respectively). The course emphasises the development of analytical know-how with computational skills by combining multiple disciplines. Students develop industry-relevant expertise in foundational knowledge of Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, and Computers through papers, lectures, projects, and training. Special focus is put on software such as Python, SAS Visual Analytics, MS Excel, R Studio, and Oracle to incorporate into projects and practical applications.

B.Sc in Data Science

B.Sc in Data Science is a 4 year degree with Honours, (3 years without), focusing on the relevant and upcoming field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The course focuses on boosting knowledge of computational and analytical skills and the skills to analyse and manipulate complex. Students in B.Sc Data Science are steered towards areas such as computer programming, data analysis, and database systems through critical assessment. The course combines practical Data Science methods with fundamental theories relevant to algorithms and computational analysis.

SMS 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The exam conducting body, NMIMS, establishes the SMS 2024 eligibility criteria for B.Sc courses in NSoMASA. If candidates do not meet the eligibility criteria, their candidature may be cancelled. The following pointers enumerate the SMS 2024 eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates with an eligible board-recognised 12th class certificate.
  • Applicants from any stream can apply, provided they have had Mathematics and Statistics as a subject. 
  • A minimum aggregate of 50% marks is required to be eligible.
  • Any candidate with a 10+2 certificate from International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) Certificate, or DP or CP awarded candidates with a minimum of 24 credits in 3 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) each from any stream are also eligible.
  • Students may apply for the SMS 2024 exam by furnishing their SAT/ACT scores. This step would require them to fill out a separate application form.

SMS 2024 Admit Card

The admit card will be automatically generated once students have booked their exam slot on the website. Students must log in to the candidate’s portal on the official website and view the dashboard for the SMS admit card 2024. 

Once the exam slot has been booked, students will receive a confirmation mail to their registered email ID. This email/admit card must be presented to the exam officials at the test centre. Candidates will get separate emails/admit cards for every exam slot they book. Students must also bring a valid government-issued ID for verification

SMS Result 2024

The SMS 2024 results will be released for the Phase 1 exam on Apr 4, 2024, as Merit List 1. Merit List 2 for the second Window will be released on May 20, 2024, while Merit List 3 for the third Window will be released on Jun 12, 2024.
