So as far as the academics are concern our university is not much different than others we have same semester system in which we have some theory as well as practical subjects that we study in our entire semester, but since 2013 our college adopted something called PLB (Projects Based Learning) system which I think is one of the best things in HMR Institute of Technology and Management, New Delhi.
So being technical undergraduate student industry expect some skills set from us as per the requirement of this whole IT era, in order to bridge this skill set gap our college organize Workshops/Training on different technologies/areas for students like Web Development(HTML & CSS, JavaScript, PHP etc.), Java, C/C++, PLC SCADA, MATLAB, Embedded Systems, Telecommunication, CCNA, Ethical Hacking etc.
You won’t believe this time in telecommunication training session the trainers were from Organisations like AT & T yeah you read it right AT & T lab. All were having 25+ years of experience in this field with lots of patents under their name so after the session, we have to submit a project on the technology we learn, a 1-1.5 month before the semester ends.
In my opinion, this is the best way to learn how the industry works and we have compulsory activities for students in our college too 1st-year Business clubs, 2nd Year Presentations, 3rd-year Group discussions and mock placement tests.
