The Endeavour Leadership Program is an initiative of the Government of Australia and provides financial support for international applicants from the Americas, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, and the Pacific. to undertake a postgraduate qualification at a Masters or Ph.D. level either by coursework or research in any field in Australia for up to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for Ph.D. The scholarship is awarded by the Universities or Higher Educations Institutions in Australia. The last date mentioned above is tentative.

Endeavour Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The Endeavour scholarship is awarded to students willing to pursue Master’s or Doctoral level studies in Australia. The other eligibility criteria for the scholarship application along with a list of eligible countries with respective regions are given below:
- The applicant should not be undertaking his/ her leadership activity in a country where they hold citizenship/ dual citizenship or permanent residency.
- He/ she should belong to from the Americas, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, or the Pacific.
- The International Individual Endeavour Leaders must undertake their activity in Australia and not hold citizenship/ dual citizenship or be a permanent resident of Australia.
- The applicant should be a citizen/ permanent resident of the participating country.
- The candidate should commence the program by January and no later than November.
- The applicant cannot apply for a category in which he/ she has already completed an Endeavour scholarship.
- He/ she should be aged 18 years or over at the commencement of their Leadership Activity.
- The candidate should not receive any other Australian Government sponsored mobility, scholarship or fellowship benefits

Endeavour Scholarship Rewards and Benefits
The scholarship benefits offered by the Endeavour scholarship are listed below:
- The scholarship amount is disbursed for up to 2 years for a Master’s degree scholar and up to 4 years for a Ph.D. scholar.
- The total scholarship amount for the Ph.D. scholars is up to AU $2,72,500.
- The total scholarship amount for the Master’s scholars is up to AU $1,40,500.
- The selected candidates receive an amount of up to AU $15,000 per semester as tuition fees.
- All successful Individual short and long term Endeavour Leaders will receive AU$3,000 per month as a stipend (maximum amount of AU$36,000 per calendar year paid up to the maximum category duration on a pro-rata basis).
- Selected candidates also get a travel allowance of up to AU$3,000 (with provision to pay up to AU$4,500 under special circumstances).
- The scholar received an establishment allowance of between AU$2,000 and AU$4,000, dependent on category and duration of the award.
- The selected candidates are provided with health insurance for the full category duration (Overseas Student Health Cover [OSHC] for international recipients).
- The selected students are provided with travel insurance (excluding during program for international recipients).
- International Endeavour leaders undertaking PG qualifications (Master's or Ph.D.) are eligible to receive tuition fees of up to AU$30,000 per calendar year, paid up to the maximum study/research duration on a pro-rata basis. Tuition includes student service and amenities fees.
Endeavour Scholarship Application Process
The step by step application process for the Endeavour scholarship is given below:
- The Australian Government has announced there will be no further rounds of the Endeavour Leadership Program (ELP).
- As part of the eligibility requirements, applicants must submit a letter of admission (offer letter) for a Masters or Graduate Diploma leading into a Masters course or for a PhD course at an Australian university for the 2019 academic year.
- The applications are submitted through the Endeavour Online (EOL) system.
- It is important to read the 2019 application guidelines and visit the official website (link found below) for detailed information on how to apply for this scholarship.
Endeavour Scholarship Documents Required
The documents required to apply for the Endeavour scholarship are listed below:
- Proof of citizenship
- Permanent residency (if applicable)
- Academic transcripts/ Mark sheets of the last qualifying examination
- IELTS/ TOEFL results to prove language proficiency
Endeavour Scholarship Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions for the Endeavour scholarship are given below:
- The Recipients should meet any specific conditions that are outlined in the offer letter issued by the Department and should sign a contract with Austraining International formally agreeing to the conditions of their scholarship before the commencement of the program.
- The applicant should be a citizen and/or permanent resident of a participating country and remain so for the duration of their program.
- The candidates should undertake the program outlined in their application unless otherwise approved by the Department, for at least the minimum duration and no longer than the maximum duration specified in the applicant guidelines
- The recipient’s program should be undertaken within his/ her nominated host country.
- The candidate should not travel to a country or region of a country that is assessed by a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade travel advisory.
- The decision to accept an Endeavour scholarship or fellowship and travel overseas is the responsibility of the recipient.
- The recipients are responsible for all of the program fees that exceed their Endeavour benefits. Funding is limited to the duration stipulated for each Endeavour scholarship and/or fellowship category.
- The recipient’s offer and the contract may be terminated at any time for misconduct, for failure to comply with the laws of the host country, for breaches of the conditions (including misuse of funds), for failure to abide by the rules of the host organization and/or for failure to make satisfactory academic progress (where applicable).
- The Department may temporarily suspend a recipient’s program when it is deemed appropriate to do so. Monthly stipends are not payable during periods of suspension.
- During their program, the candidates are not permitted to receive any other Australian Government sponsored scholarship or fellowship benefits (directly administered to recipients by the Australian Government). Recipients in receipt of an International Postgraduate Research scholarship (IPRS) or Australia Postgraduate Award (APA) must adhere to the conditions placed on those scholarships.
- The recipients must obtain permission from their host organization and confirm the conditions of their visa to determine whether they are allowed to undertake paid employment during their program. Endeavour Research and Executive fellowship recipients are not permitted to work at any time during their program except in exceptional circumstances with approval from the Department.
- Postdoctoral recipients must have had their Ph.D. conferred and obtained their final results before the commencement of his/ her program.
