The National Institute of Career Education (NICE) foundation in Nashik organises the National Scholarship Exam NSE. It is an all-India-level exam consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for students from class 5 to the undergraduate level. Therefore, they provide a learning platform for students appearing for competitive or scholarship exams such as NEET, IIT-JEE, GRE, GMAT, UPSE, MPSE, banking and government jobs, etc. The last date to apply for the NSE National Scholarship Exam 2023 is September 30, 2023.

National Scholarship Exam (NSE)
The National scholarship exam question paper will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). It is an online exam for students from classes 5 to undergraduate degrees. The National scholarship exam question papers are available in English and regional languages. The organisers design the National scholarship exam question papers to test the students' reasoning and decision-making abilities. Therefore, the students are advised to read the questions thoroughly before answering them.
Besides recognising and nurturing young talents, the National Scholarship Exam (NSE) also helps students identify and work on their strengths and weaknesses. NSE serves as an opportunity for the applicants to test their capabilities in handling new education challenges. The National scholarship exam will not have negative markings. School students from the SSC, ICSE or CBSE board can apply to the NSE exam. Similarly, the National scholarship exam for college students is available irrespective of their selected disciplines and universities.
Exam Fee
The applicants should make a payment of INR 400 towards the exam fee. The candidates submitting applications after the last date should make an additional payment of INR 50.
National Scholarship Exam - Eligibility Criteria
The candidates from class 5 to the undergraduate degree can apply to the NSE scholarship. The National scholarship exam eligibility criteria are as follows:
- The candidates in classes 5 to 12 studying in SSC, ICSE, or CBSE boards can apply for the National scholarship exam.
- The students should be pursuing a diploma or undergraduate degree courses in any stream.

National Scholarship - Benefits
The National Institute of Career Education (NICE) foundation will award cash prizes to the selected students based on their class levels and merit. The benefits of the National scholarship exam are:
- All the participants of the National scholarship exam 2023 will also receive participation certificates.
- The NSE scholarship also awards the best school, principal, and teacher with a cash prize. The foundation selects them based on their maximum participation and other criteria.
- The winners will receive a cash prize, a trophy and a certificate. They will also receive the following:
- The best school will receive INR 10,000, a certificate for innovation school, and the best school trophy.
- The NICE foundation will award the best principal with INR 5,000.
- The committee will select the best teacher and award them INR 3,000.

National Merit Scholarship Exam - Ranking Criteria
The National merit scholarship exam will prepare the students' rank list in descending order according to their marks. If two or more candidates have secured equal marks in the NSE scholarship final exam, the committee will select the student who has scored more marks in the following subjects:
- Mathematics and general science
- General Knowledge
- Reasoning and analytics
- Comprehension
National Scholarship Exam - How to Apply?
Interested candidates should ensure they meet the National scholarship exam eligibility criteria. They can apply to the NSE scholarship either online or offline mode. The NICE Foundation conducts the National scholarship exam every year. The registration for the national scholarship exam will close by September 30, 2023.
National Merit Scholarship Exam - Online Application Process
The students can apply online through the national scholarship exam's official website by following these steps:
Step 1 - Visit the official National Scholarship Exam website.
Step 2 - First-time applicants should click on 'NSE student registration' to begin the national scholarship exam registration process.
Step 3 - Next, click on 'students registration' and fill in the details.
Step 4 - After completing the National scholarship exam registration process, the students will obtain a user ID and password.
Step 5 - Enter their user ID and password on the National scholarship exam login page. They can log in by clicking on the National scholarship exam student login.
Note: The applicants should create the password in DD-MM-YYYY format.
Step 6 - After uploading the pictures, the students can access the student dashboard.
Step 7 - Lastly, make the payment for the National scholarship exam registration fee.
Note: The candidates should make the payment online. The National scholarship exam portal accepts net banking (SBI collect, Paytm, pay U money, etc.), debit and credit cards.
National Merit Scholarship Exam - Offline Application Process
The offline process to apply for the National scholarship exam is as follows:
Step 1 - Download the application form by clicking here.
Step 2 - Take a printout of the National scholarship exam application form.
Step 3 - Fill in the accurate details on the application form.
Step 4 - Lastly, pay offline the National scholarship exam fees through the Demand Draft (DD).
Important Documents
The candidates applying online should upload the documents to the National scholarship exam portal in the prescribed format. However, those applying offline should send their records through the speed post, registered post, courier, or hand it over at the national scholarship exam head office or branch office. The candidates should mention 'Application for National Scholarship Exam - 2023' on the envelope.
The candidates can apply offline through their schools, college, institutions and organisations. They can also apply directly by themselves. The essential documents to submit while applying for the national scholarship exam 2023 are as follows:

- The educational institutions should submit a letter mentioning the participants' names with their principal's signature and stamp.
- The individuals applying directly for the NSE scholarship should submit their aadhaar card or school/college ID.
NSE Scholarship - Key Points
The candidates should refer to the essential points while applying for the National scholarship exam. They are:
- The National scholarship exam question paper consists of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Each question paper will have four alternatives.
- The National scholarship exam syllabus includes the following four subjects:
- Mathematics and general science
- General knowledge
- Reasoning and analytical
- Comprehension
- Each subject contains 25 marks. Therefore, the National scholarship exam question paper has a total of 100 questions.
- Each question will carry one mark. Therefore, the total marks of the National scholarship question paper are 100 marks.
- The examination is for 90 minutes (1.5 hours), and there are no negative markings.
- An exam fee of INR 400 must be paid as the National scholarship exam fee. If they fail to make the payment, the organisers will reject their applications.
- The students who submit the application forms after the last date should pay INR 50 as late fees.
- The candidates who apply online will have their username and password on the National scholarship exam admit cards.
- The admit cards will contain the students' seat numbers and the exam centre details.
- The National scholarship exam admit cards can be downloaded online.
- Under unavoidable circumstances, the National scholarship exam's director reserves the right to change the exam dates and centres.
- The candidates' National scholarship exam admit cards will have information regarding their exam centre's location.
- The organisers will usually assign the National scholarship exam centre 30 km from the candidate's school or college.
