Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) Chandrasekhar post-doctoral fellowship is an opportunity provided by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA). A permanent resident holding a Ph.D degree can apply for this fellowship. This fellowship is for the extraordinary candidates with marvelous academic records in all the zones of astronomy and astrophysics. The selected fellows will be rewarded INR 80,000 per month along with some other allowances. The applications will be accepted 3 times a year with different deadlines in consecutive months (i.e Jan 31st, May 31st, and Sept 30th, 2023).

Eligibility Criteria
The fellows should ensure that they are fulfilling all the requirements. The selected candidates of the particular degree can apply for the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) Chandrasekhar post-doctoral fellowship. Some of the necessary conditions are given below:
- They must be below the age of 32 years.
- They must hold a ph.D. degree in a particular field.
- The fellow must be an extraordinary student with marvelous academic records.
Rewards
The selected fellows for the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) Chandrasekhar post-doctoral fellowship can avail themselves of the services provided by the institution. They will be rewarded with different allowances. The rewards are as follows:
- INR 75,000 per month will be given to the candidates who are having experience of lesser than 2 years for the postdoctoral scheme.
- INR 80,000 per month will be given to the candidates who are having experience of more than 2 years.
- INR 2,00,000 per annum will be given to the selected students as a contingency grant.
- Rental, medical and other allowances will be given as per the rules of the institution.
- Financial assistance of airfare purpose will be given to the selected fellows.

The candidates can apply online for the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) Chandrasekhar post-doctoral fellowship. The candidates who are applying for the first time should register themselves into the fellowship portal. They can apply for the fellowship by using the steps given below:
Step 1: Go to the official webpage of the fellowship.
Step 2: The first time applicant should register themselves into the portal as fresh applicant.
Step 3: Then, log in with the registered ID and Password.
Step 4: Fill the online application with the necessary details
Step 5: Create a PDF of a duly filled application form along with the relevant documents.

- The fellowship is for 2 years with the possibility of an extension of 1 more year.
