The Pratibha Puraskar scholarship scheme is an initiative of the Government of Karnataka that facilitates the overall social and educational upliftment of the students of Karnataka belonging to the backward classes. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate and postgraduate students domiciled in Karnataka state. The expected last date was July 30, 2023.

Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is awarded to students who are domicile of Karnataka state. The other eligibility criteria to be fulfilled for the Pratibha Puraskar scholarship application are listed below:
- The applicant should be an Indian citizen and should be a domicile of Karnataka state.
- They should have studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years.
- The candidate should belong to the backward class category and should attach the valid caste certificate as proof.
- The applicant should have completed his/ her graduate/ postgraduate/ professional/ professional postgraduate degree by 2019.
- They should belong to a reserved class such as SC/ ST/ OBC/ EBC.
- The students should have scored at least 90% marks in the last qualifying examination from any government recognized board.
- The candidate should have a minimum of 75% attendance in college for the scholarship fund to be credited.
- The candidates should have linked Aadhar card to the bank account as the scholarship amount is credited directly to the bank account.
- The annual family income of the applicants under the Prakash scheme (SC/ ST) should not exceed INR 2,50,000 from all sources.
- The annual family income of the candidates under the 2A, 3A, and 3B schemes (OBC/ EBC) should not exceed INR 1,00,000 from all sources.

Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship Application Process
The Pratibha Puraskar scholarship application form is accessed and submitted online. The step by step scholarship application procedure and the registration process is explained below:
- Visit the Karnataka Backward Classes Welfare Department's official ePASS website.
- Then scroll down the homepage to the ‘Student Zone’ tab and click on the ‘Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship Registrations for UG & PG’ section.
- Read all the displayed instructions carefully, click on the checkbox to accept the declaration, and finally, click on the ‘Apply Now’ button.
Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship Registration Process
After completing all the steps above, the candidate should fill in the Pratibha Puraskar scholarship registration form. The different steps to complete the registration form are given below:
- Firstly, select the application course, i.e. graduate/ postgraduate/ professional/ professional postgraduate.
- Then enter the initial SSLC details like registration number, pass type, date of birth, and year to proceed with the application.
- Select the correct SSLC type and SSLC passing year.
- Enter the correct SSLC registration number, date of birth, and applicant name.
- Then select a valid gender and enter the father’s name and the mother’s name of the candidate.
- Select the category from CAT 1, CAT 2A, CAT 3A, and CAT 3B.
- Next, enter the caste details and the income certificate number for the category 2A, 3A, and 3B income.
- Enter the certificate and caste certificate number for the CAT 1 category.
- Then, provide the contact number and all other details.
- Enter the residential address. If the applicant’s town/ village does not appear on the list, they should select a nearby village/ town and enter the name of the village/ town in the box provided.
- Then, select the district and taluk to which their village/ town belongs and enter valid residential information.
- The students should also select the parent’s preference and enter the annual family income.
- Then, add the UID/ Aadhar number and other related details.
- Enter the bank details and should select the bank district, bank name, bank branch, account number, and IFSC code.
- Next, enter the SSLC registration number and select the school district.
- Select the school taluk, school name, and school type and enter the school’s address, medium of education, and marks scored.
- Finally, after entering all the details, accept the declaration form and click the ‘Submit’ button to complete the registration process.
Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship Documents Required
The important documents to be upload along with the Pratibha Puraskar scholarship form are listed below:
- Aadhar card
- Residential proof
- Caste certificate
- Income certificate
- Candidate’s bank passbook which is linked to the Aadhar card
- Bonafide certificate of the previous years
- College certificates/marks card
Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship Selection List
The step-wise procedure to download the Pratibha Puraskar selection list is given below:
- Visit the Karnataka Backward Classes Welfare Department's official ePASS website.
- Then, select the ‘Pratibha Acknowledgement’ link under the ‘Student Services’ tab in the menu bar.
- The Pratibha Puraskar, scholarship acknowledgement form is displayed; enter the application reference number to download the Pratibha Puraskar scholarship acknowledgement.
- Select the SSLC pass type and the SSLC pass year and enter the SSLC registration number and date of birth to access the Pratibha Puraskar scholarship acknowledgement.
- Finally, click the ‘Download Acknowledgement’ button to get the Pratibha Puraskar scholarship acknowledgement.
