IIT Guwahati GATE Cutoff Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates should ensure they fulfil the eligibility requirement for the different specializations as given in the following table. This is an important step before applying to the course of their choice.

Any Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in an appropriate area for the degree chosen to pursue the candidate's higher education.
Minimum Marks (CPI) of 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
A minimum of 60% of total/aggregate marks in Qualifying Degree.
Relaxation in Minimum Marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates: The minimum marks requirement is relaxed by lowering 0.5 in CPI or 5% in marks for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

IIT Guwahati Admission Process 2024

Each year IIT Guwahati releases the GATE Score cutoff for its M.Tech courses. Students whose GATE score is within this cutoff as per their choice of specialization become eligible for the admission process. The further steps to be followed are

Register yourself for the COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal). This is a platform for all IITs. Here the offer letters of all participating Institutes are uploaded in a common time frame.
Fill in the choice of Institutes you want to apply to.
Fill out the admission application form on the official website of IIT Guwahati.
Fees for the application form for female candidates, transgender candidates and candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD category fee is INR 150. For the remaining candidates, it's INR 300.
Check the seat allotment on the COAP Portal. It is essential that candidates visit the website regularly to check the seat allocation status and the rounds.
