GATE COAP 2025 registration window has been opened by IISc Bangalore on the official website on Mar 27, 2025. Candidates can apply for the COAP counselling 2025 using their GATE registration number 2025, GATE score card 2025, date of birth and name. Only candidates who have qualified for the GATE results 2025 can apply for the COAP counselling process.
The COAP counselling schedule 2025 was provided on the official website by IISc Bangalore. The authorities will tentatively activate the official COAP portal after Mar 20, 2025. The round 1 GATE seat allotment 2025 will be done on May 17, 2025. The process will comprise at least 10 rounds, depending on the seat availability and acceptance rate of the candidates.
Candidates should note that GATE COAP is not an application gateway for M.Tech admission at any participating IITs. However, candidates should apply individually to the respective IITs for M.Tech programs and the PSUs for the job based on their schedules.

About GATE COAP 2025
IIT Kanpur announced the official notification for GATE COAP 2025 exam on the official website. As the name suggests, the Common Offer Acceptance Portal or ‘COAP’ provides the aspirants with a common platform to pursue M.Tech from the participating educational institutes or attain employment in one of the participating Public Sector Units (PSUs).
Furthermore, COAP refers to the Common Offer Acceptance Portal, the applicants should be aware that GATE COAP is not a site for M.Tech admission applications, but rather a shared window where the participating institutions and PSUs publish their offers. For admission to the M.Tech programs at each IIT, candidates must submit separate applications.
GATE COAP 2025 will witness the participation of 23 educational institutes and PSUs. The exam highlights for the GATE COAP 2025 exam are as follows.

GATE COAP 2025 registration has commenced on Mar 27, 2025. Candidates who want admission to one of the participating institutes or are seeking a job in any of the participating PSUs should register on the portal accepting applications. Steps for GATE COAP 2025 Registration
The registration process for GATE COAP 2025 is detailed below:
- Step 1: Candidates must go to the official website and click on the ‘Registration Link’ given on the page's left-hand side.
- Step 2: Candidates will be directed to the page given below.
- Step 3: The login information will be sent to the email address and mobile number provided by the candidate at the registration time.
- Step 4: For verification of their details, candidates would be asked to log in using the credentials sent to their email addresses and mobile phones.
- Step 5: The candidates have the option to add their additional GATE scores attained in the last three years, i.e., 2022-2025.
- Step 6: Go through all the details fed and hit the ‘Submit’ button once you are done.
- Step 7: Post the successful registration, candidates can browse through all the offers presented by the participating colleges and PSUs and choose the most suitable one.

Note: There is no registration fee for GATE COAP 2025. The candidates are advised to note down their GATE COAP Registration 2025 Numbers as they might be asked for it in the later stages.
Documents Required To Fill GATE COAP 2025 Application Form
All aspirants will have to present the following documents to register successfully for GATE COAP 2025.

- UG Scorecards
- Scorecards of 10th and 12th grade
- Government-issued photo ID
- SC/ST Certificate

GATE COAP 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure that they surpass the eligibility criteria laid out by the conducting authority before applying for GATE COAP 2025. The eligibility criteria for GATE COAP 2025 are discussed in detail below.
- Candidates must be a citizen of India. Foreign nationals cannot apply for the offers offered by the participating institutes through GATE COAP 2025.
- Candidates must have a valid GATE score from 2022, 2025 or 2025 to apply for GATE COAP 2025.
- If a candidate has appeared for GATE 2025 more than once, they should present the scorecard in which they have attained the highest marks.

GATE COAP 2025 Counselling
GATE COAP 2025 result for round 1 will be declared on May 13, 2025. Candidates will be able to accept and freeze, retain and wait, or reject and wait on the options that are available to candidates till May 15, 2025. It's worth noting that during seat allocation if a candidate has already applied for retain and wait on the same, they will not be able to do so again.
In this instance, a candidate must choose between accepting and freezing or rejecting the offer. GATE COAP 2025 registered candidates can go through all the offers and choose an ideal one for themselves.
GATE COAP 2025 Seat Acceptance Process for Main Rounds
There are three options while filling out the counselling choices on the GATE COAP 2025 platform. They are elaborated on in detail for the reference of the candidates. Candidates assigned seats in GATE COAP 2025 must choose between accepting and freezing their positions or rejecting and waiting for the next available seat.
Option 1: Accept and Freeze
- The candidate chooses this option if they are ready to accept the offers made to them and do not want to be upgraded to higher preferences in subsequent rounds.
- In the succeeding rounds, candidates who choose this option will not be offered admission.
- The candidate must click the submit button to verify that their choice has been submitted after selecting the "Accept and Freeze" option. The candidate should then go to the admission portal for the relevant academic institute and follow the instructions on the webpage there.
Option 2: Retain and Wait
- Candidates who plan to officially accept one of the offers should choose this option if they want to be considered for an upgrade to their higher preferences, if any, in the next round of offers.
- Candidates who choose this option won't be considered for the other offers in the current round that were turned down.
- However, the current "Retain and Wait" offer will be withdrawn if a better-preferred offer is made in the following round. An applicant may select "Retain and Wait" just twice for the same offer (same institute and same programme).
- The applicant will be considered for any additional higher preferences in the upcoming round(s) of admission available at the participating academic Institutes.
- The candidate should click submit to confirm the submission of the decision after selecting the "Retain and Wait" option.
Option 3: Reject and Wait
- If the candidate is unwilling to accept any of the offers of admission in the current round, they should choose this option.
- The candidate will be considered for any further higher preferences in the upcoming round(s) of admission granted by any academic Institutes taking part. Please be aware that because you declined this offer, it won't be made again in the subsequent rounds.
- The candidate should click submit to confirm the submission of the decision after selecting the "Reject and Wait" option.
Steps to Check GATE COAP 2025 Seat Allotment Result
Applicants who want to accept the seats offered through GATE COAP 2025 must finish the admissions procedure by enrolling on the institute portal, paying the required fees, and submitting the required documentation.

- Step 1: Candidates must visit GATE COAP 2025 web portal, and click on the 'Login' button on the homepage.
- Step 2: Enter the user ID and password generated after registration.
- Step 3: Find the 'Seat Allotment' tab and click on it.
- Step 4: View all the institutes applied for.
- Step 5: Access the list of candidates who have chosen those institutes to give admissions or jobs to. (It must be noted that the allotment list is prepared, keeping in mind the scores attained by the candidates in GATE. The ones with a higher GATE score would be given preference over those who scored lower marks comparatively.)
- Step 6: The candidates would be given the option to ‘accept and freeze,’ ‘retain and wait,’ ‘reject and wait’ or ‘reject’ altogether.
GATE COAP 2025 Offer Acceptance
GATE COAP aims to find the most worthy candidates for occupying the M.Tech seats in the participating institutions. To ensure that it is done fairly, certain guidelines have been proposed by the conducting authorities that the candidates must abide by such as follows.
- The candidates must not forget to click on the ‘Submit’ button after making their choices. An unsuccessful submission counts as the candidate's absence from that particular round.
- The candidate must not forget to visit the corresponding organization’s official website and check admission-related formalities that need to be done after acceptance of the offer.
- The candidates need to attend every round of seat allotment till they ‘Accept and Freeze’ an offer. If the candidate has given a higher preference beforehand, then the candidate will also be considered for that particular opportunity, if it comes in the subsequent rounds. However, the candidate will not be allowed to participate in any of the further rounds of offer acceptance.
