IISc Bangalore was conceptualized in the late 1800s. To this end, Tata set up a provisional committee under the leadership of Burjorji Padshah, an educationist, to come up with an outline for the proposed university. The Institute, which started with just two departments – General and Applied Chemistry and Electrical Technology – today, the college has over 40 departments expanded across six divisions: Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Electrical Sciences, Interdisciplinary Research, Mechanical Sciences, and Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
JEE Main 2024 exam dates have been released by NTA. JEE Main 2024 Session 1 exam will be conducted between January 24, 2024 and February 1, 2024, whereas the session 2 exam will be held from April 1, 2024 and April 15, 2024. The registration process for JEE Main will start in December 2023 (tentatively). GATE 2024 exam between February 3, 2024 and February 11, 2024. The CEED 2024 application's last date is October 31, 2023. CEED 2024 will be conducted on January 21, 2024. The CAT 2023 exam will be held on November 26., 2023.

Q: Is there a course available at IISc Bangalore after the 12th Standard?
A: Yes, a 4 year Bachelor of Science (Research) program is offered at IISc Bengaluru. The candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 12 Class and qualify in one of the national tests – KVPY/ IIT-JEE (Main) or (Advanced)/ NEET.
Q: How to get admission in IISc for the M.Tech/M.Des/M.Mgt programs?
A: Selection to M.Tech is only through the GATE exam. Selection to M.Des is through GATE/CEED followed by a Design Aptitude Test and interview. Selection to M.Mgt is through GATE/GMAT/CAT followed by a group discussion as well as an interview.

A: Yes, the M.Tech program in Electronics System Engineering, Climate Science, Computational Science, Earth Science, Electrical Engineering have aptitude tests and interviews.
