The Indian Institute of Science has an excellent placement record over the years, with many eminent alumni contributing in the public and private sectors. IISc has dedicated placement cell and a placement portal for the efficient functioning of the IISC placements. Students from all UG, PG and research programmes participate in Indian Institute of Science placements held throughout the academic year. The Office of Career Counseling and Placements (OCCaP) is responsible for all the training and recruitment activities for the IISc placements and internships. IISC Bangalore Placement Cell

The Office of Career Counselling and Placement (OCCaP) is the nodal agency for coordinating all placement related activities.  The OCCaP or Placement Committee is defined as the committee of members in charge of the final placements through the OCCaP placement portal. The Indian Institute of Science placement cell is in charge of the training and industrial visit programs, internships, sessions and workshops for skill enhancement, and all other industry interaction events. The OCCap portal is a one-stop placement portal for both the recruiters and students. The company lists the vacancies and hiring information in the online portal, while the students can apply for the same based on their eligibilty criteria. OCCap will publish the job/interview listings for the students, as well as the student profiles will be made visible to the recruiting companies. The deadlines for application, interview process, etc is also published in the  portal.

IISC Bangalore Internships

IISc Bangalore allows students to take up internship positions in Industries for up to three months, without aecting academic activities. Undergraduate and Masters students may take up these internships during summer months (May to July). Research students can avail internship if their coursework is completed, subject to approvals from the advisor/ department. Longer internships are allowed with special arrangements. OCCaP plans to organize special events to facilitate such interactions between students and Industries. Internships with stipend are offered to all the students of the UG, PG and PhD programs. The highest stipend offered on campus for the 2021 batch was INR 1 Lakh per month.
