IIT Tirupati was set up in 2015 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute started functioning with the help of IIT Madras. It is the first among the 3rd generation IITs to have laid its foundation stone. Admission to IIT Tirupati for 2024 will start soon. Candidates who have passed JEE Main can register online at the official website.

Presently, IIT Tirupati is operating from the temporary campus on Tirupati – Renigunta Road (36 acres) and also the transit campus at Yerpedu which is the main campus under construction (548 acres). After successfully completing their degree programmes, IIT Tirupati graduates are granted a substantial compensation package.

IIT Tirupati Admission

IIT Tirupati admission for the session 2022-23 has been started by the college in various UG, PG, and other courses. Admission is granted through national-level entrance examinations for the respective courses. The college accepts the score obtained in JEE Mains, JAM, GATE, etc. The candidate has to log in to the official website of the institute. Fill out the application form along with the required documents and pay the fees. 

IIT Tirupati Eligibility Criteria

IIT Tirupati has different criteria for admission in different courses. The students need to fulfill the basic requirements for getting admission. The basic criteria for some famous courses are as follows

B.Tech. Eligibility Criteria

• Passed 12th with PCM and scored a minimum of 75% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
• The students should qualify for JEE Advanced to secure a seat in this institute.

M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have a B.Sc degree in relevant subjects with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized university. 
• Candidates must have a valid score card for the entrance exam JAM. 

Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates must have a master’s degree in science from a recognized university.
• Candidates must have a valid score in GATE or UGC/CSIR-NET/NBHM for the Ph.D. program.

IIT Tirupati transit campus is spread over an area of 30 acres while the permanent campus is located in Yerpedu. The Andhra Pradesh Government has allotted around 548 acres of land in a picturesque location with a mountain backdrop.
