Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Tirupati transit campus is spread over 30 acres, while the permanent campus is at Merlapaka hamlet on the Yerpedu-Venkatagiri Road (NH565). Andhra Pradesh has granted 530 acres of property in a lovely setting with a mountain backdrop. There are hostels and other facilities for B. Tech and M. Tech students at the transit campus. - The temporary campus building of the institute houses fourteen 40-seater classrooms, four 60-seater classrooms, one 90-seater classroom and two 120-seater classrooms with the necessary furniture.
