WBJEE exam pattern 2025 will be set by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exams Board (WBJEEB). The exam is a pen and paper-based test comprising 55 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

The WBJEE 2025 exam is expected to be held across 2 papers for 4 hours. The Mathematics paper (Paper 1) will be held for two hours, while Physics and Chemistry ( Paper 2) for one hour each.

WBJEE 2025 Category-Wise Marking Scheme

The category-wise marking scheme for the WBJEE 2025 exam is explained below:

Question Category 1

  • The right option yields 1 mark: Only one option is correct. The correct option will yield a 1 mark.
  • Wrong option yielded Negative Marking: Incorrect option will yield -¼(negative ¼) marks.
  • Combination of right and wrong: For any option of more than one option, the said answer is treated as incorrect and will yield -¼ (negative ¼) marks.

Question Category 2

  • The correct option yields 2 marks: Only one option is correct. The correct option will yield 2 (two) marks.
  • Negative Marking: The incorrect option will yield -½ (negative ½) marks.
  • Combination of Answers: For any combination of more than one option, the said answer is treated as incorrect and will yield -½ (negative ½) marks.

Question Category 3

  • Marking correct options: One or more options are correct. Marking all correct options only will yield 2 (two) marks.
  • Combination of incorrect answers: For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options, the said answer is treated as incorrect and it will yield a zero (0) mark.
  • Partially correct answers: For potentially correct answers, i.e. when all correct options are not marketed and also no incorrect options are marketed, marks awarded = 2 X (no of correct options marked) / (total no of actually correct options).

WBJEE OMR Instructions

Since the WBJEE 2025 exam is conducted offline, in a pen-and-paper format, candidates must know how to fill in the OMR sheets to avoid negative marking. The following key points must be kept in mind when dealing with the OMR during the WBJEE paper 2025:

  • Use a black or blue ballpoint pen: It is recommended to use a black or blue ballpoint pen.  The use of coloured pens or pencils is not permitted as they may not be recognized by the scanning machine. Moreover, the ink of a gel-based pen can get blotted at times.
  • Properly fill in the OMR bubble: Incomplete or incorrectly filled bubbles will not be accepted. A tick mark, a dot mark, scratching, erasing the white link, or marking the outside circle will lead to a negative marking.
  • Follow the instructions carefully: Before beginning to answer the questions, read the instructions provided on the OMR sheet to avoid marking wrong answers.
