How to Calculate WBJEE Rank 2024?

WBJEEB will prepare merit ranks based on the candidates' scores in the WBJEE. Candidates will be able to download their rank cards. 

The expected WBJEE rank 2024 is prepared based on the paper candidates appeared for and the marks obtained. The following are the criteria for formulating the General Merit Rank (GMR). 

• The sequence of GMR will be based on the marks obtained in papers I and II. 
• Further, the rank will be counted in descending order of total marks scored in all the subjects.
• Candidates from reserved categories will have a separate merit list based on their category, such as SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A Rank, OBC-B Rank, PWD Rank, TFW Rank etc.
• Admission to all Engineering / Technology / Architecture Courses and the Pharmacy Course at Jadavpur University will be based only on GMR.  
• Sequencing orders for counseling/allotment of seat/admission will be strictly based on the GMR.

WBJEE 2024 Tie-Breaking Methodology for Preparation of Merit Rank

WBJEE opening and closing rank 2024 tie situations will be resolved using certain methodologies. The terms and conditions are as follows:

• In case of a tie, fewer negative marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry will be considered. More positive marks will be accounted for. 
• Next, candidates who score more marks in Mathematics and Chemistry will be considered. 
• If the tie persists, the candidate with lower negative marks in Mathematics and Physics will be given a higher position.
• Candidates with fewer negative marks in Maths and Chemistry will be given an advantage.
• If the tie remains, candidates with more correct answers in Maths (for only 2-mark questions) will be assigned a higher rank.
• If the tie persists, candidates with more marks in Physics (for only two-point problems) will be awarded an advantage.
• If the authorities cannot break the deadlock, candidates with higher positive marks in Chemistry (for only two-point questions) will be evaluated first.
• If none of the above measures breaks the tie, the candidate's age will be used as a tie-breaker, and the older candidate will be given preference for admission with WBJEE 2024.
