AIBE certificate of practice 2024 is presented to all the candidates who successfully qualify the All India Bar examination. Certificate of Practice also known as CoP acts as a guarantor to all practicing lawyers.
The lawyers who started practicing law without passing the AIBE cannot obtain the certificate. From 2009-2010 onwards, all the candidates who qualified the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) are required to obtain this certificate for practising.
Further, the certificate must been obtained within two years of qualifying the examination.

AIBE certificate of practice 2024 is rewarded to all the AIBE qualified candidates. The Bar Council of India (BCI) recognises all the through this certificate. The certificate also ensures that all the benefits are offered to the practising lawyers.

Who Can Apply for AIBE CoP 2024?
Candidates who have scored 40% marks from the general category and 35% from the reserved category can apply for the CoP. Here are some other who can apply:
- Advocates who have enrolled for the AIB.
- Practising advocates who are enrolled but their names were transferred in the non-participants list.
- Senior advocates.

To obtain a AIBE certificate of practice 2024 candidates must appear for the AIB examination. The steps must be followed:
- Candidates must register themselves in the State Bar Council.
- Fill up the form of AIBE online.
- Appear for the AIBE examination.
- Score the minimum cutoff marks, required for AIBE examination.

Candidates have to download or buy the form from their respective state council. The steps to register with the State Bar Council are as follows:
- Fill up the form with all the details required and mentioned.
- Cross-check all the respective details.
- Attach the picture and upload the documents required.
- Pay the form fees for registration.
Process to Obtain Certificate of Practice from State Bar Council
Candidates can apply for the certificate of practice by submitting their request through the state councils.
In 2021, the bar council launched AIBESCOPE, a smartphone application that allows applicants to receive a digital copy of their COP until a hardcopy is supplied to them.

Here are some of the guidelines that lawyers have to maintain to conduct their duty.
- Act in a dignified manner
- Respect the court
- Not communicate in private
- Refuse to act in an illegal manner towards the opposition
- Refuse to represent clients who insist on unfair means
- Appear in proper dress code
- Refuse to appear in front of relations
- Not to wear bands or gowns in public places
- Not represent establishments of which he is a member
- Not appear in matters of pecuniary interest
- Not stand as surety for client

Rules on an Advocate’s Duty Towards the Client
- Bound to accept briefs
- Not withdraw from service
- Not appear in matters where he himself is a witness
- Full and frank disclosure to client
- Uphold interest of the client
- Not suppress material or evidence
- Not disclose the communications between client and himself
- An advocate should not be a party to stir up or instigate litigation.
- An advocate should not act on the instructions of any person other than his client or the client’s authorised agent.
- Not charge depending on success of matters
- Not receive interest in actionable claim
- Not bid or purchase property arising of legal proceeding

- Not adjust fees against personal liability
- 15.An advocate should not misuse or takes advantage of the confidence reposed in him by his client.

- An advocate shall not enter into arrangements whereby funds in his hands are converted into loans.

- Not advertise or solicit work
- Sign-board and Name-plate
- Not promote unauthorized practice of law
- An advocate shall not accept a fee less than the fee, which can be taxed under rules when the client is able to pay more.
