AIBE XIX (19) Eligibility Criteria 2024: Age Limit, Qualification (Revised)

AIBE XIX (19) eligibility criteria 2024 is set by the Bar Council of India. Candidates must have a 5-year/3-year LLB degree to apply for the exam. Only eligible candidates will be issued admit cards and allowed to attempt AIBE XIX (19) 2024. Based on the AIBE eligibility criteria, there is no upper age limit to appear for the exam. Candidates are advised to go through the AIBE XIX (19) syllabus 2024.

Candidates who are in their last year of an LLB or BA LLB program are also eligible to appear for the All India Bar Examination starting this year, following the updated AIBE 2024 eligibility criteria. Up until now, the AIBE exam was exclusively open to recent law graduates.

 Registration for the AIBE 19 Exam 2024 closes on or before Nov 15, 2024. AIBE 19 exam date 2024 is Dec 22, 2024. Concurrently, the BCI has introduced a significant modification to the qualifying requirements; that is, candidates no longer need to possess enrollment certificates from a state bar council to take the AIBE.

AIBE XIX (19) Eligibility Criteria 2024 Highlights

There is no prescribed upper AIBE exam age limit for writing the exam. 

AIBE XIX (19) Educational Qualification

As per the revised AIBE 2024 eligibility criteria, candidates who are in their final year of LLB/ BA LLB courses are also eligible from this year onwards to appear for the All India Bar Examination. No minimum percentage is required to be eligible for AIBE XIX (19) 2024.

Minimum Marks in Qualifying Exam

The BCI mentions no minimum marks are required for appearing in the AIBE exam. However, a candidate must secure a minimum percentage or grades in their law degree as prescribed by universities for further education.

AIBE XIX (19) State Bar Council Registration/Enrollment

BCI has come up with a major change in eligibility criteria, i.e. candidates do not need to have enrolment certificates from a state bar council to appear for AIBE.

AIBE XIX (19) Eligibility Criteria 2024: Number of Attempts

There are no restrictions on the number of times a candidate can appear for the All India Bar Examination. Candidates are eligible to write AIBE XIX (19) 2024 examination any number of times.

Note: Even if the candidate has satisfied/completed all formalities related to the application but is found not complying with the eligibility criteria, their admission will be cancelled.

The candidates have to prepare according to AIBE XIX (19) 2024 syllabus to efficiently understand the concepts and applications of different Laws in the context of AIBE XIX (19) 2024. 

AIBE Exam Eligibility: Physically Challenged Candidates

The Bar Council has not provided any set of rules for the eligibility criteria for physically challenged candidates, although candidates must provide a PwD certificate during the registration process.

Candidates claiming as physically challenged will be provided an extra time for the completion of the exam, and they must be careful during the registration process, and upload all the relevant documents. 

AIBE XIX (19) Eligibility for Obtaining COP

The All India Bar Examination will declare the candidate as qualified for the AIBE XIX (19) exam only when the test takers have scored minimum marks in the AIBE exam. For qualified candidates, a Certificate of Practice (COP) will be issued.

The minimum marks to be scored by the candidate are based on the categories to which they belong. The general category candidates must score a minimum of 40% out of the total score, while the reserved categories must score 35% out of the total score to declare as qualified in the AIBE exam.
