The Delhi University B.Ed course is a sought-after programme among teaching aspirants in India, especially within the National Capital Region. The admission process for the B.Ed course at DU is very competitive and is taken through the entrance exam scores. The selection of candidates for B.Ed programme at DU is based on CUET PG scores strictly. The Faculty of Education of the University of Delhi offers a two-year, full-time B.Ed. programme at four different colleges: the Central Institute of Education, or CIE, Maharshi Valmiki College of Education (MVCE), Lady Irwin College (LIC), and Women's Shyama Prasad Mukherji College (SPMC). Lady Irwin College and Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women can be applied only by female candidates, as both institutions are only for females. The B.Ed programme of Lady Irwin College offers courses in science and home science only. Delhi University BEd Entrance Exam 2025
Admission to B.Ed programme at Delhi University is strictly based on entrance exam scores. For selection, the university accepts CUET PG scores. It is mandatory for all candidates to appear for the CUET PG exam and qualify to be eligible for Delhi University BEd admission 2025. There are no other entrance exams required for admission. Candidates who score the qualifying cutoff in exam will be eligible for the counseling process. Based on merit list and college wise cutoff, candidates will be allocated seats into BEd programme.

Delhi University BEd Admission 2025 Process
Admission to the Delhi University (DU) B.Ed course is on the basis of scores achieved in the CUET PG 2025 exam. Delhi University does not require any separate entrance exams for admission. The CUET PG is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Applicants have to apply online from the Delhi University or CUET website. The application process includes registration on the Post Graduate Admission Portal, reading the BEd prospectus carefully, and submitting the online admission form. Following the CUET exam, a merit list is drawn up based on the marks scored by the applicants.
The CUET examination is held online in Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. The exam medium is bilingual, English and Hindi, with the exception of language papers.
Merit list candidates are called to take part in counseling. While counseling, seats are allocated to successful candidates in any of the four DU BEd colleges. If a candidate is not present in the counseling, the seat is provided to the next candidate who is eligible and on the merit list.
Documents required for DU BEd Admission 2025
Candidates must have the following documents ready for the Delhi University BEd admission process:
- High School/ Secondary School Certificate for Verification of Date of Birth
- A detailed Statement of marks of Part-I, II & III at Graduation. In the case of Post Graduation Being the Eligibility, A statement of Marks at Master's Level.
- Provisional Certificate or Degree of Qualifying Examination.
- Relevant Certificates/Documents from a competent authority, for candidates claiming reservation, or candidates belonging to reserved categories.
- Character certificate from the institution last attended or from any gazetted officer (valid for six months from the date of issue).
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Employer and a letter of sanction of study leave for the period of two years in the case of candidates in service.
Please Note that Candidates must place the Documents in the Serial order stated above. Also, a candidate will not be admitted if they fail to produce any of the documents stated above during admission. The Admission Committee can allow some time for document submission if the candidate gives a proper written undertaking.
Delhi University BEd Application Process 2025
The first step in getting admission to BEd colleges of DU is to fill out the application form. Candidates can fill out the form in online or offline mode The online application process for the DU BEd program involves the following steps:
- Go to the Delhi University website or the CUET website and register on the Post Graduate Admission Portal.
- Verify the eligibility criteria to ensure that you comply with the requirements provided in the prospectus.
- Complete the BEd admission form accessible on the DU PG Admissions Portal or CUET website.
- Select the subject category and CUET paper code wisely.
- Choose your preferred examination center.
- Pay the application fee. It is mandatory for all applicants to pay the application fee.
- After filling out the application and paying, print out the form to bring on the day of the exam.
Please note no changes will be allowed after the online payment has been done.
Delhi University BEd Eligibility Criteria 2025
Candidates who wish to apply for BEd admission at Delhi University must be aware of the eligibility requirement. There are two categories of eligibility criteria for the BEd course:
Type 1: Entrance Category
Candidates should have at least 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Science, Social Science, Humanities, or Commerce, or any other equivalent qualification.
Applicants holding a Bachelor's degree in Technology or Engineering should have a minimum of 55% aggregate marks with Science and Mathematics as their specialization.
Type 2: Pedagogy Course and CUET Paper
Applicants need to choose one subject category and corresponding CUET Paper which they have studied during their qualifying degree (Bachelor's or Master's) for a minimum of 200 marks or at least 12 credits (according to UGC guidelines pertaining to CBCS courses). They should have achieved at least 50% marks in the concerned subject.
The category chosen for the subject will be considered final for merit list and college allotment. It will also be the teaching subject throughout the course of BEd.
Delhi University BEd Cutoff
Candidates who wish to get admission to DU must obtain the minimum Delhi University BEd Cutoff marks. The cutoff marks for BEd admission at DU is prepared on the basis of CUET PG score. The Central Institute of Education (CIE), now officially the Department of Education at the University of Delhi offers BEd programme for 2 years duration. Maharshi Valmiki College of Education (MVCE)
